Hey I’m a really big fan of survival games and coming from ark to this one of the most frustrating things is when I run out of something and I have to cross the hole map to get more like I think adding special animals that can be riden would help out everyone alot
You would still have to cross the whole map…
Which btw doesn’t take that long really…
But to save time build bases near what you need, mass farm it in one session, and then with the help of a pet or thrall, carry it to where needed… stockpiling is your friend, always harvest twice as much as you need…
And let’s say you want iron, don’t lug iron stone back to base, build a furnace near where you harvest…
Oh and here’s a pic of my pet after lugging an inventory of iron…
Mounts you could ride would only be able to move as fast as your character. There would be no speed advantage.
This is a rendering issue. That’s why mounts have not been introduced yet, if ever.
Building a small camp near resources is the way to go. Albeit more difficult online when you have to worry about others attacking your stuff.
In an offline solo game you don’t have these problems.
Lakewatch to the west is one area I made a smelting camp. Because there is plenty of wood and fish on the northern base of the plateau, which gives me dry wood and oil. On the southern side is Brimstone Lake and Iron Nodes, which can provide iron bars, steel bars, hardened steel bars, as well as bricks and hardened brick.
There is little walking back and forth, so you can keep your stations running constantly. Rhinos can provide hide and leather on the route to Brimstone Lake as well.
Use the Conan Exiles Interactive Map to locate spots.
