Need Advice With Atleast Players Greifing

So short version, we’re on a official PVE-C server. about 2 weeks ago I ran up on someone near our base. Usually this isnt a big deal as the server WAS dead before last update and no one seemed to attack during PVP hours. This guy though turned around and started attacking me… No biggy, it is PVP time… So either run or fight… I fought back… And won (shockingly)

Looted him and went back to base… 20min later he posts in global for me to give him his #$%^ back. I just ignored him. He attacked me and lost… Fair game…

Nope… So now for the past week he has DAILY had him and others kiting 3 skull bosses to our base to destroy it (Seems like a crap move but not sure if it fair game or not.

Problem is he is also somehow able to fire arrows through our T3 walls (no windows) and hit and kill us almost instantly, plus doing this if we’re NOT on either)

The bigger issue though is him and his flunkies built a T3 wall around our base blocking us in.

Its not to the point most everyone in our guild has quit. Not much point playing if we cant get out, our base is destroyed daily but a 3 skull dragon, etc… And log in dead every day loosing all our stuff even though we log out at night closing ourselves in a small window and doorless room in the dead center of our base.

Any suggestions?

This right here was your first mistake my friend, Official servers are not policed or moderated by admins and so most of the scummy types play on there, I see a thread like this almost daily and it always starts the same way. “im on official so and so and x group is cheating/griefing/being abusive.”

My suggestion play on a private server with an active admin and never look back. You won’t miss these kinds of players but believe me they will miss you, they thrive on having others around to grief, it feeds their sadistic and toxic nature, you don’t need that sh*t  don’t let yourself be food for such low lives.

As far as I’m aware kiting creatures to your base in PVE with the intent to do structure damage is against the rules. However Funcom in most situations don’t enforce this actively due to resource constraints and so even though you could report them it likely won’t go anywhere.

My advice to anyone in this situation is the same, Join the private servers community, there is a reason we all left officials for the wolves. Let the trash grief each other on officials, you don’t need to be part of that mess

Give back what he wants to have back and next time you kill him DO NOT LOOT HIM. What’s the point of making morons angry when they can ruin your game ? Just give up on what he ask, keep killing him if he keep attacking you, don’t loot him anymore. I’d bet he’ll gets tired to be killed before you get tired to kill him and stops.

Here is what I know after naming the same server since day 1.
Like the herp, they come and go. Some stay too long, but like all good germs get bored and move on.

PvE-C -> you cannot destroy any buildings (chests, vault, etc).
Yet you log out with stuff on your body…

PS.: Lure the 3skull dragon to their walls to destroy it

Well unfortunatly my friend chose the server. He has some thing for private servers and wont play them. He got on here, picked this one and then talked me into playing. He didnt READ what PVE-C was (he thought it meant clans could agree to go into PVP and stop it when they wanted) It wasnt until we were both lvl 60 and I got nailed that I looked it up and found out the actual rules lol.

As far as giving him his stuff back, its funny, we talked to him and he was all butt hurt over a pair of boots from the preorder. Said he’d gotten them from someone and couldnt replace them. (Stats sucked btw) but we had preordered so actually made him a couple sets and gave it to him.

Anyways, thanks for the advice, after I posted I noticed myself this seems to be a regular thing on officials as you all mentioned.

Except that some admins are “corrupt” and give special favors to their buddies. Also, private servers have scuzzy players just like officials. Thirdly, private servers can and do disappear without any warning at all.

If you want to prevent this kind of behavior, your only choices are to play offline or rent your own server.

I recommend reverting your own server. They’re not hard to manage and a 10 slot server is very cheap.

Really give the baby back his stuff because he is a poor loser. He lost, guess he should not have started something he could not win, its how PVP works, so he needs to get over it. This is why I do not play PVP anymore to many poor losers and snifters.

Wait, what? On PVE-C, the only thing that can damage your base is the Purge. The normal bosses can only kill your followers, not damage your base.

Unless you’re logging out really close to the wall and he’s using poison arrows, this should not be possible. Definitely sounds like an exploit. Gonna have a hard time proving it, though :frowning:

Yeah, it’s a very expensive and traumatic lesson to learn, but the next time you pick an official server, make sure there’s a spot available for your main base, where you can build it in such a way that it can’t be walled off.

It all depends on how invested you are. My normal course of action in a situation like that would be to pick another server and start from scratch.

But there are people who pick the other way: start another base in a place where you can’t be walled in, farm like crazy, then wall in all your enemy’s base(s).

Personally, I can’t be arsed to do that, but it’s true that the only two ways to deal with trolls is to starve them or out-troll them.

Won’t work. At this point, the troll doesn’t care for the loot, he wants to exert power.

Not to mention that private servers are too varied. It’s really hard to find one that isn’t drowning in mods, has sane multipliers and has a decent ping :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, i play on PS4 so I don’t have to worry about mods. Though in some cases a few mods would be nice.

But yeah, it’s hard to find a good server. I’ve got my main official PvE server. Other than that I mostly float around to different PvP servers (official and otherwise) and try out different experiences.

Different base settings can result in wildly different server experiences.

Sorry I meant this as in no way give it back, he is a baby and a sore loser, I would never give it back. That is what I meant.

I mean this Isn’t common and just requires a little research of the server before you join,

Usually the more popular private servers have good admins, The one I play on has such an awesome admin, He’s online almost every day, runs updates as soon as he can, He responds on the server discord right away when hes online and essentially is ready to help players with anything from bans on cheaters to small things like helping with stuck thralls or bugs. You can literally @ him in discord and say you are at coords X,Y and have an issue and he will reply teleport to you and help how he can.

I have been so happy on that server and it mainly comes down to having a good admin. There are cheaters and toxic types every you are right, but the difference is on official nothing happens to them and so they stick around, on a server like the ones I play on, they don’t last more than a few days before they get reported investigated and banned. I have seen many people get removed from the server for such things. I can remember one of the most recent times, A group went out and managed to raid a couple players outside of the PvP structure damage times, The admin heard about it, got confirmation from event logs, teleported the players who got raided to the raiders base, then unlocked the chests so the victims could take their stuff back, then explained to the raider why he was doing it. When the Raiders got upset and started trash talking him, (they didnt even try to deny it they were just calling him names and such) he banned them.

You don’t get that kind of service on officials. Sure some Admins are bad apples it happens, but for the most part they are usually pretty dam helpful and awesome, I havent encountered a bad Admin on private yet. As for the dissapearing thing, once again that largely depends on the server you find, Some update announcements regularly. The one I play on you get told before each update, each restart each wipe, the admin even holds votes for if the players feel they need a restart or what have you, so it will all come down to what you find, Some will be the best experience you have had in the game so far and others will be lame, It’s like anything you just need to find the right fit for you.

So I stand by my recommendation, Finding a private server with a good population and an active and helpful admin will be one of the best times you have in this game.

As for the mods issue, there is a filter in the server list XD, you can literally untick “display servers with mods” and it will only list vanilla private servers lol so this really is a non issue. So no don’t just isolate and play by yourself, for some thats what they want and thats fine, but most of us enjoy the social aspect to the game, so find a private server to suite your needs and you won’t regret it.

The one I have been on now for the last few months I chose because it has no raid time during the week, I work full time so don’t get much play time in the week, so this was a perfect match for me and I’m so glad I found it :D.

EDIT: incase anyone is interested in the server I am on currently, It’s called Olympus, it does run the AOC mod and max player level is pushed up to 300, no weekend raid time, but long raid times over the weekend. Admin is a legend and the community is really relaxed. It is PvP and the rates are boosted. It wiped earlier this week so it’s the best time to check it out because no one is established yet. If it sounds interesting then come check it out and say whatsup to the resident Hobo living on there

Well… Yes. If keeping the loot makes that guy angry enough that he walls your base, ruining your game since you can’t play; Then I’ll give him back what he wants. And next time I won’t loot him. It just a game. There is no point to put your ego in it.

Well not everybody will respect you but if you treat people with honor, respect, love and kindness some people will remember it and wish to pay you back.If you honor your word and are an honest person and try keep your word till it hurts and grieves you at your heart ,sometimes your reputation begins to proceed you and make some friends along the way.I have kept my word to some real scumbags, because I gave it to the scumbag. The one you need to fear isn’t the guy who made the most enemies but the guy who made the most friends.Did you take the time make some friends along the way? There is strength in numbers. If you want to stay there sounds like one dude’s right ,time to fight fire with fire :fire:.Time to give a shout out!! see how many friends you have and give the dude a taste of his own medicine. The more people and clans you can get to join you the better.I have a bad memory but people remembered me and done some nice things for me.Treat people with love and respect, sometimes it comes back to you.Sometimes people will just treat you like a piece garbage despite how good you were to them. That’s just how it goes sometimes, alot of evil and wicked people out there.I play singleplayer but it does get lonely.PvP does have interesting aspects to it,but I am ignorant and have crap DSL.Maybe if I get wiser I might switch to multiplayer.

Clarification:You can attract more flies with honey, than with vinegar.Be holy, godly and righteous in all that you do.Even with this guy.Care about your personal integrity.I have let people use me,take advantage of me,and exploit me and walk all over me but I didn’t rise to the top by treating people bad.All I am saying is,if this guy don’t let up maybe he needs encouragement, because if you can get him to think twice before he does something,He might just become the genious of his family  and leave you alone.Provided you can get people to help you.

“Honor is worth more than riches and a good name is worth more than wealth” Trust me on this one dude,a good name and good reputation and your personal charity goes along way. This is a rhetorical question but ‘What do you want to be remembered for?’ and ‘What do want to leave in your wake?’ ,but you might have to give him a lesson if he won’t let it go though, if you can get enough backing.I’m dropping it for now.
