Need to ban a distruptive player whom I can never catch online

Basic Info:

Platform: PC
Issue Type: Private Server Admin Functions
Game Mode: RP/PVP
Server Type: Private
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: Kingdom of The House Phoenix Royal Hellknights
Mods: Vanilla

I need to find this player’s Steam64ID but all I have is their Funcom ID. Moderator, please DM me for the Funcom ID and full details of the distruption, thank you.

A private server? If you are the Admin, or know he admin, add the PIPPI mod. There you will have all the tools you need to track the full details of the player, see all their build(s), see when they last logged in, etc, and can do all manner of chastisement and stuff.

Getting player details like those above could breach data-protections somewhere so companies are likely loathe/allowed to share that. Ever.

Understandable. I just wish there was a way in vanilla to handle it when you cannot catch them online. I did discover a way to ban on the backend, but it’s only semi-reliable without both the Funcom ID and steam64ID.

Yeah, it can be very frustrating - and there are so very many similar comments logged in the forums over the years. It’s simply too easy for those in ‘the know’ to mess with most/any games that have tons of online/hosted players. Add to that sifting through tickets logged by the hackers and exploiters too, reporting other players to try to get them banned, etc.

Am not aware of any way that Funcom could/would/should include similar features PIPPI (and other Admin mods?) contain. In many cases this could just put further exploitables into the core game.

I shifted years back to private and modded. PIPPI has been front and centre since the start. It would always be on any private server before I would play on it. It is simply the best tool (for me) to notice, track, and eliminate most game hacks, exploits, and game-abuse.

If any player on my servers or servers I play on were given player ids by the Admin it would )potentially?) breach European Data Protection laws and be illegal. Anyone familiar with data protection is more than welcome to reply.

Save yourself a headache and install teh mod. Go to the requisite admin panel and see most stuff about players, including every built item and their location by that player, and there you are. You will not be able to see the player Account Name unless player’s logged in (obvs.) - but, as Admin, you can ban and/or remove all their built stuff, etc. Worth a look.

I appreciate the information. I got lucky this morning and managed to snag them randomly online. It was really odd because I literally woke from a sound sleep out of nowhere and my first thought was to check. Sure enough they were logged in at 4:30 AM and managed to get them. I am installing Pippi temporarily now to remove their offending structures. Basically, they were building offensive words and symbols out of sandstone, and turning noob river into a sandstone parking lot. Again, thank you for the in depth information.

Oh lovely. Yeah, there are those kinds of players still scuttling about.
PIPPI is enormously powerful and is great for clearing - or even t just show you where they’re spamming stuff - sometimes and Admin just wants to clear the junk without losing the player. Good luck!
