I would love to see a foundation piece similar to the Inverted Sloped Roof/Inverted Sloped Roof Corner so that I did not feel compelled to run hundreds of foundations down a cliff side rather than leaving them hanging in mid air as a testament to my poor design decisions and planning.

How will you stack them? You will still need normal foundations under them so these will be your last (top) piece. In any case, if what you are looking for is a block of stair piece, arena dlc is the answer to your problem. If you want to build in other dlcs then you lift your foundations to the point you want you place triagonal pieces of wall left and right and then your stair piece. If you use Aquilonian or Argos, place a brazier before the stair piece, at nights the stairs are glowing, it is a wonderful sight.

The nearest I got to what I think Pugilist was suggesting was by using Argossean vaulted ceilings to get the extra piece out from the wall - it doesn’t have quite the same stability as a full foundation would, but it can at least create the right sort of look.
Nearest screenshot I’ve got of what I mean is my ‘stairs of highly likely (but not actually certain) death’ - which extend out a little further from the cliff edge than I think is intended, but maybe give the idea of how the same idea could be placed a little deeper into the cliff face -

Yes, but still foundations must attach to a piece of ground, the cliffs are never in a straight line, so you will use two or three pieces and then, again you will need to place normal square foundations to go on. Building on clifside is tricky, especially when you play normal and not admin mode, is nightmare. I am all in to every new idea or building piece. If you haven’t use the tree foundation so far, use it, it is a fantastic piece. I remember one video on YouTube made me not to use it for long time, but when I use it I was blaming my self for believing nonsense 
. So if a new building piece will arrive, I am all in, yet the job can be done the way things are right now

I would love this as well. Sort of like treehouse foundations but for squares and wedges.
