New combat changes make fighting bosses much worse

Changes to combat make the game just about unplayable. This is a horrible, horrible bug that makes the game just terrible.

This combat change is BAD. I guess Im back to logging on once a week to wait for better times, meanwhile Ill play Valheim or take anohter run at BG3.

suicided 4 good thralls and left a pile of corpses on easy sep npc combat… in kitted champ sets… reading forums instead of playing the game is how bad it is

Seriously what the f where they smoking when they thought this combat change was a good idea? First thing I did when I was finaly unbanned from that coins mess was go hunt an elephant to get leather. Lost a l12 thrall and nearly died as I couldn’t hit more than 1 time before having to stop and manualy turn to face, a stupidly fast hyper ninja elephant that never missed and even changed charge direction, not facing though so it came at me sideways, to hit me every freaking time.

I would say they make it more challenging, not unplayable, which is a fun thing. This game sorely needed stuff to make it more challenging.

But Im not behind the rotation change, since I feel it was unneeded and unasked-for. It changes one thing to a different thing but the purpose why eludes me. Why would you do a profound change like that if there was no good reason for it? Id like to hear Dennis explain it.

I want to see video of them and their thralls surviving some combat against more than 1 thing. How can you not mind a system that forces you to spam roll as well as ONLY use W to change direction, as well as spam Q to change targets, since using standard free-combat style will get you rolled into an attack, into a wall, into a corner, or just instantly dead. I also would like to see a live stream of the devs attempting to do basic Conan gameplay in this update. I’ve seen how companies intentionally killed a game before, and this is worse. The only other option is that this new gen of developer doesn’t know how to code. And how sad would that be. I’m very familiar with free combat systems, I have done exceptionally well in other games that had way harder combat. This change is just about as stupid as sending 12 year olds to war. Seriously, losing 4 consecutive lv 20 T4 thralls all in bulked plate Champ gear (nearly 2k armor value and from 3k - 10k HP) one thrall was a T4 bearer with 10k HP, running 2 thralls at a time (max war party) me with 1900 armor and 740 HP, appropriate legendary weapons, all thralls rerolled with good attributes. Berserkers that could solo well of skelos couldn’t handle an ‘armorer I’ in Sep. I lost more than a few hours of work there. And this was in Sep where kills are NORMALLY basically happening as i walk through town because it isn’t a challenge. It’s not just players that can’t survive this combat break, the thralls wildly miss attacks, careening off into the distance since they also can’t execute combos and change direction. Well done, game is toast. Noone will know if taverns were even a good idea. Show me some unedited live playthroughs where someone actually can do this combat and I’ll shut up.
I tried the combat for hours too, so it’s not just a quick play and get frustrated experience. I tried in 3 maps with different builds, and all of this was in civilized difficulty. I lost a grand total of 8 good thralls, died so many times it’s ridiculous, and lost hours of gear farming. All for what? Try to tell me it’s to make it more challenging again. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but please keep it realistic.

maybe the changes work well on a controller, but KB+M is sucking wind. DEMAND REVERT ASAP!!!

As of right now, the combat feels like you’re permanently in controller style movement. You MUST use a movement key to turn, your mouse doesn’t control your facing anymore. This is crippling and hideous for any keyboard & mouse player. It can be repeated by simply attacking with camera turned a different direction than facing if rotatable stationary cam is on. It can be repeated by attacking, turning, and then doing the second attack of a combo if rotatable stationary cam is off.

This makes the game feel as if your inputs are not registering, it is awful to actually play. Please fix this bug.
