New (?) feature in combat - npc roll

Hi, I’m not entirely sure when this was introduced, perhaps with the last patch, but after a year’s break from CE, I discovered that both humanoid enemies and thralls roll in combat. On the one hand, it’s an interesting change, but on the other, it irritates me that after giving the order to attack, my berserker runs up to the opponent and instead of attacking, he starts doing cinamm…cimmerian rolls…

Yes, it was the last update.

I kind of wish only enemies did it and thralls would not. I want my thrall to stand there and take every blow with their face.

Enemies doing it makes life easier (for me at least). I’m running around Siptah a lot recently, medium or light armour and short sword all the time, and farming recipes at the pools meeting a grey one with two handed axe or hammer means instant death to me if they could touch me more than once. Since update they decide often to make a roll instead of just kick me to the curb after their first hit .

Its neat. and…. odd.

dagger enemies were always kinda “ugh, stop back flipping” now add in extra roll or two. -_-’

Watching my Katana/Archer do it gets weird.. she has full advantage. (she’ll be behind a enemy, and just roll) looks weird.

Be nice if they rolled towards and dodge stuff forward instead of always away.

It’s in the patch notes for the latest update. It’s an awesome feature.

But, you still had to complain/gripe. There is always a complaint here as most posts are about complaints. I am so glad that the number of people that are active on this forum amounts to less than 1% of the Conan Exiles players on any platform.

@Sera67 I am very happy to see you back what a Holiday Suprise. I thought we had lost YOU

It’s not so much a complaint but rather a surprise, but I’m not sure if it is a pleasant one - anyway I don’t see any need to put any personal attacks in your response, guess you are maybe in that 1% that always had to complain on others instead on the game

There are just too many rolls, the fight now almost always starts with dodging instead of throwing a hit (and both sides do it - hillarious to watch npc and thrall charge at each other than halt and roll away simultaneously), and I also noticed that the opponent doing a hit very quickly after the roll, which looks unnatural (especially if they use a heavy two-handed weapon). To sum up, adding this option is not bad (and I’m glad that someone is actually working on CE!), but performing rolls too often spoils the effect, a bit like the frequency of fatalities.

ps and I’m so sorry that I didn’t read the patch notes - but I decided to save time and ask here, oh besides, it turns out that I have people to do this for me, for example you #darkpower.

There are no personal attacks in my response and you can’t show otherwise. I stated that “the number of people that are active on this forum amounts to less than 1% of the Conan Exiles players on any platform.”

Look at the stats for number of players at any time and you will see that 1% of that number is higher than the number of active users on this platform at any given time, and that’s only for PC, which means the number of console players is not shown there:

I certainly didn’t read the path notes for you as I have not provided any information about the patch notes to you other than referring to them as I did in my initial response. That does not equate you having any type of control.

Ok, 100% of logic here, my bad I guess, yet:

“There are no personal attacks in my response and you can’t show otherwise.” = “It’s an awesome feature. But, you still had to complain/gripe. There is always a complaint here as most posts are about complaints.”

“(…)I have not provided any information about the patch notes to you(…)” = “It’s in the patch notes for the latest update.”

“That does not equate you having any type of control.” = I jokingly suggested that I have people for such things, not that you are my slave/employee. On the other hand, the fact that you reacted this way to my post implies some kind of control because I “forced” you to act (reply). Anticipating another answer, I would like to point out in advance that I am just being sarcastic, so there is no need to respond.

This is actually only logical “statement/observation” you made in this thread. Think about it yourself.

Pointing out the fact that you actually made a gripe/complaint is an observation and statement, not a personal attack. Your feelings don’t dictate reality and your lies have no impact on the truth.

Your only aim with any reply to me is to mortify by lying. That’s weak AF and pedantic. No, you can’t harm me. You will only lie. My post history does not look like yours.

i’m loving the thralls rolling away in combat, means theres less stagnation of just running in and fighting, although did thralls not used to roll years ago? or am i going crazy

Just did right here. :index_pointing_up:

You pointed out that the information was in the patch notes. Good, that was also already pointed out by Tephra. No biggie. But then you started a new paragraph with the first quote where you address the OP personally, and accused them of still ‘having to complain/gripe’ (even though it was in the patch notes, as pointed out in the above paragraph). That, right there, is a clear and obvious case of making a person attack against them for NO BLOODY REASON other than just to be a complete jackarse. Something that you claimed could not be proven (in the second quote). Well, perhaps you shouldn’t make such claims when they can so easily be disproven. :woman_shrugging:

Of course you then went on to prattle on about everything you said OTHER THAN THE ONE THING YOU KNEW you were actually guilty of, so the rest of your diatribe is irrelevant.

Thank You for your posts, I made a mistake by going into discussion with that guy and even bigger mistake by trying to be funny/joking. Seems like either this is very troubled person or some kind of bot armed with very…hmm strange translator. My bad that I allowed him to derail this thread by adding more fuel to his delusions.

As mentioned earlier only dagger users (npcs) were doing somersaults I think. Current feature is neat, but as I said, it sometimes lead to hilarious situations, when both sides roll from each other. This may be funny, but also frustrating and ended in couple of deaths for me and my thrall, when he rolled from one enemy to a group of others, while I died, because for example I counted on my thrall to deliver final blow and he decided to play a puppy in that very moment. Adding this feature is cool and bring some hope, that FC decided to push some manpower to CE (introducing rolls wasn’t just marking checkbox in admin options I guess), although when you learn to anticipate enemies moves combination (for me nearly every fight now starts with a pattern of enemy roll and try to land a sudden hit) it become just another “oh ok” thing, like fatalities - nice but bothersome after 100 attempt.
