I am on an official pve server, on ps5. Ive started at a dozen or more purges without any issues but now im getting “cant find a location to spawn enemy base” (whatever ot says) error. It started after i placed 1 palisade. After the error i removed it, now i cant get one to start. Nothing else was changed. Im wondering if there might be a limit on how many you can do per day or what? Thank you for any feedback.
I am having the same problem on xbox
I wonder if servers can only have so many purges at a time. Server was really full when this happened. Went to do something else amd was hit with the unplayable lag.
Im going to try with different player loads.
I think it is a bug.
The first day i was not able to start a purge for the same reason, the day after i triggered several ones (I just tried, i did not change anything), but after that a new bug accurred, and now i can’t build anywhere (and can’t trigger a purge).
Unfortunately right now there are issues of every kind in all the platforms.
Yea, im sure there is a bug also, but i did just complete a purge and it was fine. Difference seems to be how many other players are on the server. Once it goes over 10 people thats when the purge wont start and the lag gets really bad.
I did have trouble placing items and it was when many were on.
Hopefully they can get fixes out fast.
Couple questions.
Did you place placeable loot in the room with the coffer? Did you place or move a thrall?
I have found that the placeable treasures and placing thralls can also block the purge.
Specifically if the purge can’t draw a line right to the coffer it fails.
So if every angle of access for the coffer is blocked by something, a treasure or thrall, it will not spawn. The treasures you place aren’t destructible so if enough of them block the path the purge fails.
Try rearranging your coffer room and see if that fixes things for you.
It did for me
The only time i have a purge fail is when the server has a lot of players on it. I still try and it now usually starts without any problem. Sometimes i need to try two or three times. Failures really seem to be related to either server load or how many others are also activating a purge. Ive run at least 2 dozen purges without issues so my set up is fine. As i said im sure there are bugs, but i do believe server load is also an issue.
Last night i only had one attempt fail, i started 6 purges.
Unfortunately I could say the exact opposite.
I play on a private server that I run and I was the only one playing on it at various points with purges failing repeatedly and back-to-back.
Rearranged my treasure room )without deleting anything) and it’s been 100% success rate since then no matter how many others are on.
I’m not saying it’s perfect but server load was not behind the repeated fails I had.
The purge failure after one door gets demolished started after the patch. It also happened while i was doing level 9 purges. Today i dropped to 8 amd it was fine, i even allowed a door to be demolished. Will try a 9 and 10 tonight.
Pretty hard to troubleshoot when you dont know if something is a bug or intended.
The new purge is fun, i like it so i hope this gets worked out soon. I put food, poison and pork on all my thralls so its a pain when it fails in progress and i have to repeat that chore.
Glad to hear some are not having issues. I play on an official server so ., who knows.
Yeah there’s just so much unknown which is why I’m shooting out idea. Hope I don’t come across as trying to a know it all or something.
Other people on my server have issues summoning the purge so there’s totally some weird rules and requirements for it and we don’t know any of them. Especially the requirements
True. I finally got a level 10 to complete. Not sure it was worth the resources but was fun. There were only a few people on the server so i do feel, at least in my case, that is a factor.
The more feedback people give the more it helps those looking for solutions, so please keep posting your suspected causes. They are helpful amd i appreciate it.
