New UI on Consoles is Bad. List of gripes/feedback

So first I will compliment the new Thrall/Pet follower settings menu in their inventories. Much easier than progressing through the several layers of the radial wheel.

However, the new UI heralds a big downgrade and a regression of the interface. Problems I perceive:

  • armor & weapon values are no longer listed in their respective Knowlege menu tabs. I just had to tell a new player to go and cross check at the armorers bench.
  • the ‘custom’ sorting option is gone. Why!? For the love of god restore it. Now my inventory and boxes constantly reorganise themselves. How about let me do it in a way I like?
  • hitting ‘drop’ on something now makes the cursor jump one space to the left.
  • interacting with crafting stations. Eg- cooking. It used to be as simple as pressing R2 to give the item, L2 to cook it then R2 again to remove it. Done. Now after we give we need to scroll up and manually press the play & stop button, then press X on the stack of cooked items to drag it back to our items then press X again to drop it. Seriously!?
  • the encumberance bar in the Inventory menu is now much smaller and no longer colour coded as green, yellow, red etc. Just a fixed percentage.
  • the radial wheel no longer displays damage or durability stats.
  • for Thrall armor we can no longer rest the cursor on the armor piece and press R2 to ‘quick take’ item. Noooo, now we need to hold X to pick it up, then drag it down to an empty tile right down the bottom of our inventories just to remove it from their items. A bigger pain in the neck than before.
  • changing the cutom sorting for the split one. Horrible, absolutely horrible. (I know it will be reverted, just wanted to add it to acknowledge it here in my feedback).

This list will be updated as I further play and observe.

I think starting the crafting stations is now L2 [HOLD]?

But yes, it’s all a mess.

I was counting on you to explain the Playstation problems we deal now. I am a slow learner, imagine that reading a topic a month ago i learned the button that auto adjust the placeables on ground. I was disappointed that after age of sorcery was removed, but it wasn’t i just couldn’t find it.
So i don’t quite understand why devs change these buttons, they probably have a good reason, no doubt about it, yet it’s a hell for some people to learn and adjust again.
Anyway, I’ll adopt, but that’s why i don’t fix lists, i don’t know exactly what to say and if it’s valid :rofl:.

Previously I could put damaged armor on a bench and hit r1 and select repair to repair it.

It would use whatever mats were required from the bench with any applicable discount for bench type.

It seems now i can only use repair kits to repair?

Careful, not holding L2 long enough will resort to moving the ENTIRE benches inventory into your own inventory. This is such a pain in the ass that I purposely scroll up and press the play button to start the station.

Of course. That’s why I mentioned that it’s all a mess.

Not sure whose quality of life improved with these “QoL Improvements”. But, may God bless them.

Unless I am odd man out, our thralls no longer listen to direction when trying to point them to an area to move to get out of your way. Unless you have massive space in your base, you actually have to be outside to be able to point to the ground far enough away from yourself to get your thralls to actually MOVE. We are back to pointing at the ground and telling them to go while they stand their an ignore us.

My good fellow you are no such thing. You are a venerable encyclopedia of knowledge and stats for Conan Exiles. Truth be told, I was actually hoping you and @LostBrythunian may point out any I may have missed, as my memory is not what it used be I’m affraid.

Purge lvl 9…
Stops without any reason at all. Out of 8 efforts of purge lvl 9 barbaric mode, i managed only 1. The 2 first had really good reason. Star metal ores broke the path and purge couldn’t pass. But the 5 after had no reason at all to stop, they need work. I am begging please they are freaking awesome :heart_eyes:.
The king beneath (barrow king) fist fights :rofl::rofl::rofl:. The poor king has no weapon anymore, it’s not fair please fix :laughing:.

PURGE LVL X ROCKS, IT WORKS FLAWLESS :metal::metal::metal:.
If i see something else i’ll post it here, i like the mood.

There are actually two more things i would add here:

  1. if we die and grab our gear again, our weapons either aren’t in the wheel bar or not in the same slot they where before. Our armor also doesn’t get equipped again. We have to equip it manually.

  2. (this might be a little bit off topic?…anyway)
    I‘m not able to grab selected loot from purge chests. If i simply grab EVERYTHING from the chest, i‘m not able to drop a lot of the things when i want to store it.
    In that case i gotta log out and back in, then i can interact “normally” again.
    (As normal as this nonsense can be i suppose…)

In the interest of productive posting this one was holding off a bit until the maddening rage and revulsion had subsided.
Then this one saw there is a “hotfix” coming soon ™.

So this one is waiting until the hotfix hits and this one is in a mood to be constructive.

That said, on Siptah, the First Men have embraces their primitive status and, much like the King Beneath, forgotten how to use weapons and are only punching.

Oh, and Primeval Bracers are still not craftable and still appear as a bag. They have stats in line with the rest of the set and accept illusions well enough, but otherwise interact oddly with helmets.
