We all know it’s very frustrating to obtain recipes in the Isle of Siptah, my hope for the new update is that we can obtain recipes in new ways, maybe even add new foods and armors.
-Drops from the grave event themed around the event of course. (witch doctor feat, darfari foods etc.)
-Remove some from the RNG Vaultloot and add them to the world. You expanded the Isle with new land masses but we still don’t see old recipes there.
-Maybe allow us to learn new or old recipes from eating a food or discovering an item that is part of it. ( Finding darfari bug soup in a chest and after eating some of it learning the recipe.)
Just some ideas.
Like that idea!
One of the best systems I’ve seen in a few other games is “learning” the new recipe from deconstructing the item. For example, if you run up north and loot a Nordheimer chest with a hardened steel warhammer. You can either use it or deconstruct it. If you deconstruct it (say in a deconstructing bench), you get a recipe for that item (you can now learn how to make that item). You learn the Nordheimer style of warhammers made in hardened steel. You can’t make “all” warhammers nor can you make all “Nordheimer” styles of all weapons. Just that one warhammer and just in that one style. Its an approach that makes you hunt for items to learn the recipes – for the material its made from, to the racial style its made in, to the type to weapon it is. Like Pokemon, it encourages players to “catch 'em all”. Not spend a few points and learn a bundle of warhammers in multiple racial styles. I’d like to see something like that brought to Conan Exiles (but that might be too much work for a game that years old already and with the Dune IP on the horizon).
This
Awesome suggestion @Bodin !!!
How is it frustrating?
You go gather statues for about an hour or maybe two - it’s fun - you can fight, sneak, or snatch and grab. You take them to the grey pools and have fun playing in the water and fighting off the mobs of enemies. And then you loot them for the power shards. After about an hour or so of that you have 100 ~ 200 power shards which you take to tower for 100 to 200 recipes. Meanwhile you also probably looted a buttload of those ???" elements while you were at the pools. Those can be used for Surges - typically 4 to 8 of them - from which another 20 or so recipes are obtained.
Do that once a week for about 3 or 4 weeks and you will have ALL of the recipes in the game.
EDIT:
I like your last idea though. Learn by doing. Maybe a research bench similar to the dismantling bench - for armor and weapons, etc. - dismantle 100 of them and you gain the ability to craft it - maybe even including those elite boss-drops (get them back in the game). Food by eating 100 of them, etc. Sounds cool.
Learning food recipes one meal at a time would be nice.
Also, veg options instead of just berries and bread.
