New weapon type: Battlestaff

They would be 2h pole weapons that utilize the old spear moveset with sweeping attacks allowing for tripping and decent damage. They would be an agility weapon with low penetration, but high attack similar to the axe! I think this would be potentially easy to add in and recycle an old asset in a positive way!

There is a mod that adds a quarterstaff. They should just reach out to that mod and ask to use it. It would be a good addition and sounds like what you’re asking for.

So I take a few days off the forums, and Stelagel manages to complete the whole game in the meantime, using only rubbish gear. These challenges are really refreshing; there are so many ways to play the game, and too often we tend to get fixated on the “optimal” way to play. Stelagel finds more new, interesting, entertaining and challenging ways to play than the rest of us combined. I think we could all learn something from his positive flavor of madness. Also, I totally agree about the albino …

Can anyone remind me in which game there was a character named Kilik if i remember correctly that was using these weapons? I fell in love this combat style in this game but now i fail to remember… Omg i am getting old .
The only thing i remember is that years later i will choose monk in Diablo and it was freaking awesome!!!

Needs to have forward momentum when attacking. Otherwise it will be another useless weapon in PvP.

The player movespeed is just too fast for non forward momentum attacks.

Yeah. I’ve suggested the same on a few occasions in the last few years. The moveset exists, all we need is the stick with which to use it.

It has always bothered me that to get a weapon, we need to tie bits of stone to a branch. Why not just use the branch? The wooden staff is one of the oldest weapons known to humankind, and it’s a strong and versatile weapon for its apparent simplicity.

Robin Hood was fond of using the quarterstaff. And he was a bloody cool hero, even if the clothes fashion of his era may have been questionable.
