Noticed that I can’t use a bow in 1st person anymore. Whenever I try, I switch to 3rd person view automatically. Won’t switch back until I put the bow away.
I used to shoot a bow from 1st person view all the time, so this has to be a bug, right?
Without digging back through older dev streams I want to say 1st person with a bow was done away when they did the big combat overhaul a while back as well as getting rid of crossbows because the two didn’t fit in the new flow of combat. I haven’t personally bothered to try it in so long so maybe my timing is a bit off.

Are you able to use other weapons in first person?
It could be that the setting has been changed? there is a setting to allow for first person combat, if the setting is turned off then whenever you take out a weapon it will switch to third person.
I havent actually tested this yet as I havent been using a bow recently or using first person combat however you are the first person I have seen mention this. So possibly it’s just the setting that has been toggled.
Oh, you’re totally correct. I had to go to Settings → Gameplay and click on “Allow First Person Camera In Combat.”
It’s all good now.
