Why are all of the servers empty? I like the game and was having much fun in the official PVP servers.
From my understanding, hackers. People just gave up on PVP.
PlayStation doesn’t have the hacking like PC. But what it does have is residual exploit abuse(IE under mesh and sky bases still around even when those methods were plugged. You got die-hards that just maintain their staging base that no one else can do and will periodically scout to find whoever dares to build in their server and offline them.
Not much fun and so since it’s too much pain to find or people are too new to know, the servers drop in population.
FC clearly wants it this way with their policies of reactive server administration from player reporting and refusal to wipe. So here we are; self fulfilled prophecy mode.
Because players plastered that empty concern during trials… lan parties. Today, they got off their ■■■■■and played (or helped someone play). Really!
That’s really all I’m asking for here in funcom forums… let’s play. Stop offlining.
If you’re talking about the player list there’s currently a difficult bug on consoles that Funcom has been attempting to resolve for months.
I can visualize that bug. I understand the desync issue. There was a fix applied… new symbols mapped (or switched context).
Now it is like trying to fix that map. Trying to put a 4x5 inventory into a 5x5 inventory… no go… unless I respec… as a “vault”. There is ~220 slots to save. Now, it just needs to rebuild for those specific inventory sizes. Or, wait until there is enough changes that a batch file can resolve, like one with all the symbols from the latest public build.
Looking for artifacts (debug symbols). There is some magic to clean-up, leftovers.
I’m also looking at fixes to openjpeg and openjpg2k. The concern is that it may not be “open” enough. I understand. Maybe too open.
Thank you…
