Once again thoughts about the purge

I like the new purge, the only thing I do miss was the different types, beasts, humans and beasts, undeads. hopefully they keep expanding on it and bring that back in a bigger, scarier and challenging way.

Yes, the variety of types and ethnicities are absent of the new purge. Just like you said, hopefully they will develop that aspect more in the future.

I wasn’t there at the beginning of the game. Would you know, by any chance, what the first purges looked like? Did they add more later?

I started playing early 2018, I don’t recall any purge changes at the time but I do remember how important it was to choose the right base location.

Right, for the type of purge you wanted to get.

Who knows, maybe they will add a function in the future? Like: bring back Stygian treasures more, and your purge will be Stygian oriented. Bring back Nordheim treasures more, and your purge will be Nordheim oriented. Bring back Dafari treasures more, and your purge will be Dafari oriented. Or something.

Or even, just a button to select the purge: instead of having “proclaim your riches”, it would be like “your envoy proclaims your riches to the Turanians”. And poof, you will have waves of combat elephants and rhinos, coupled with Turanian fighters, building their camp in front of your base to steal your treasures lol.

In my eyes that new purges su… hard. Its no fun at all.

I always had fun doing purges in the past. I was excited seeing my purgemeter go up, knowingly there will be a purge soon and tried to collect all the T4 named thralls. You never knew what you will get. Even in the north I had plenty of pirates, mixed and even some animal purges. I had epic animal boss fights at my bases in the past.

Now this new purges are not worth my time. I don´t want movie staged player controlled purges. I don´t want to build extra paths and treasure rooms and gates just in order to get a purge. I don´t want them to only go for my prepared doors but my whole base.

This door camping npc idiots maybe cool to watch and fight for people that do not have any pvp raiding experiences so they get some sort of action in their pve play. But men I swear that this new purges feel so staged and unnatural and wrong for anybody who has a little bit of raiding experience that it takes every bit of enjoyment out of your gameplay.

really the purges are in a good spot , i test it out … you really need like alot of archers but i also had the setting on 10x npc damage taken and it felt good like a good ole blood bath. With that being said on a 1x server this will suck big time. My recommendation for funcom is to remove orb throwers and Add in much more defensive rearming items like spike trap … fallen pit trap with snakes. Snares trap … maybe even has ability to pour in liquid acid that spread around. etc … What about a prefab watch tower that can shoot arrows regardless of line of sight … cannon towers … Flame tower … the list can go on …

Basically what im saying is Purge are way too strong vs the ammount of defense we can deploy reasonably.

Not seeing it yet- doing level 8 s now without any losses actually. So much so that i need to delete lesser thralls to make room for the newer purge ones i capture.

Level 10s , while indeed are soloable, - are designed with other players in mind.

I do agree that the players being in complete control of when, where, and how hard it happens kind of defeats the purpose and spirit of a purge. This new system isn’t really purging, it’s NPC raiding and sieging at the players whim. I acknowledge some people love that it’s all under their control, and they’re perfectly allowed to enjoy it like that…but it’s not really a purge nor a threat and just encourages players to break previously established server rules(multiple bases with lots of thralls which lag servers).

I hope Funcom bring back the old purge. Why we can’t have both, old and new?

I prefer the new Purge, but options are good things.
