Other players able to loot my corpse pve

I play on pve official server 2728
I died and someone I didn’t was able to loot my corpse. He then ran away with all my stuff. How did this happen on a pve server

I also play on Xbox if you die players can loot you so get back to your body quickly if you log off somewhere outside your base your body will read unconscious and it will be unlootable
