Pets and Followers Can't Cross Water/Cliffs Anymore?

[A few months back when followers were implemented theyd just teleport accross water or down cliffs to keep up with the player, since they cannot swim and climb, but now I can’t even cross the newb river with an elephant or thrall to move them off a small island! Is this intended? If so it’s a real pain in the neck since it means they’ll just be stuck there forever unless I hand place them again across the river, which I doubt will work everywhere since thralls cannot be placed in certain locations.]

Steps on how to reproduce issue:

  1. Place thrall or pet on island
  2. Get them to follow you
  3. Cross the water yourself
  4. Watch to see if they come to you

run around for just a little while once you get across the water/canyon. sometimes it just takes a couple minutes for your thrall to teleport but they’re still following you unless you command them not to or they die (or game crashes or u logoff).

They should eventually teleport to you after you move about for a while, as Ranson suggested.

Alternatively, you may set them to Stand Guard and swim without putting them down, only to place them in the desired location when you arrive to it.
