Pets keep attacking dead enemies

I have a greater wolf companion following me. Whenever I killed a mob, he continued to attack the corpse or thin air until I moved on. It happens nearly every time I kill something and it looks like an AI issue. I haven’t tested it with any other companion just yet.

Other than that, my pet is able to fight and he’s a great help.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Have animal companion on follow
    2.Kill a creature or npc.
    3.Watch in confusion as the greater wolf continues attacking the air.

My Greater Hyena used to behave in such a way too but not every time, and so did my Rocknose. I didn’t notice any regular pattern of this bug: sometimes they leave a dead enemy alone, another time they are stuck attacking and wouldn’t follow me until I put them to guard and back to follow mode.

I can also confirm this bug happening on private servers with no mods. It isn’t a big deal, but it would be so nice to be fixed.
My wish is for a fix for the flying rhinos.
