Pets, Thralls vs Volcano

[Is it not possible to take pets or thralls in the volcano? Whenever I tried, they died in the lava. So what’s the problem? Is there a trick or is it not allowed or whatever? Or is the pathfinding just bad? So whats the Problem Funcom?]

It’s a well-known issue of current AI. Funcom is trying to eliminate it. Now you may try to build some bridges over lava at paths to places of interest where your companions die often.
