There are a large number of items that drop as loot in the Exiled Lands now that were formerly Siptah-exclusive. This items are normally learned from Schematics Fragments or the Delving Bench (prior to it being broken) and crafted with Eldarium.
It appears that it was no mistake to allow these items to start appearing in the Exiled Lands, as a new code was added to Dismantling Benches that cause them to automatically transform any Eldarium that goes into their inventories into Star Metal if they are on the Exiled Lands map. This prevents people from acquiring Eldarium in the Exiled Lands if they dismantle these Siptah items.
Here’s the problem, however. I still have a bunch of Siptah items and recipes, as well as a dwindling stockpile of Eldarium, from when server transfers were still open. I used to be able to dismantle these items to get some of my Eldarium back, but now the items I acquired legitimately will be effectively deleted if I try that.
So why even bother with this wacky extra code? I proppse that these formerly Siptah-exclusive items just lose Eldarium as a component. Allow them to be crafted with Star Metal instead and dismantle into that same Star Metal in a logically consistent manner. Then remove that code from Dismantling Benches so that those who have real Siptah-only items can actually dismantle them in the Exiled Lands again.
It would be nice if their step toward equalizing the two maps (in the sense of gear) is actually a first step toward re-enabling server transfers. That would both fix your concern and be a (long overdue) welcomed return of an essential game mechanic.
PLEASE Funcom, re-enable server transfers, It’s been far too long.
Maybe I am too pessimistic, but I see measures to balance Siptah items in the Exiled Lands as a sign that transfers are not coming back any time soon. Otherwise, the balancing factor would simply be people bringing Siptah stuff over transfers.
I’d like to be wrong and see a return of transfers, but I am not very hopeful that is the case.
I feel like the real reason the transfers went away was because of the PvP community complaining that it’s pay to win. If Siptah items are available (through drops) to even those that never purchased the DLC, than it can’t be P2W. That was my line of thinking anyway.
I still harbor hope, as foolish as that must sound to some.
EDIT: I didn’t mean to hijack your thread and go off topic, that’s the last I’ll say about server transfers.
Apparently you neglected to actually read the post.
I am asking for the formerly Siptah-only items to be converted to Star Metal and the items that are Siptah-only, which I own from when transfers were open, allowed to be dismantled normally into the Eldarium like they are supposed to.
There is no request for an “introduction” of Eldarium into the Exiled Lands here.
If dismantled, they give Star Metal, not Eldarium.
@Tephra is asking that people who already have the recipes (which are not obtainable on EL map) be allowed to craft those recipes using the Star Metal.
Hopefully this is more clear, it’s not a difficult proposal to grasp, and it does NOT introduce Eldarium to the EL map like you’re supposing.
Ok this was more clear.
But even if you could craft siptah recipes with star metal, that stuff would still be stronger than most of the exiled lands stuff and cause inbalace in pvp.
And since server transfer is not a thing anymore, you should play on siptah if you want siptah stuff.
