Please consider making the crafting speed of iron reinforcements faster it is incredibly slow it takes at least 3 hours to just smelt 500 it’s not used for much so I don’t think it should really take that long to smelt when steel reinforcements take twice as less time with a t3 blacksmith
Build 10 blacksmith benches.
Or, get 10,000 iron ready before you log off, and let them do the job while you are asleep.
I believe campaign blacksmiths bench is the fastest might be worthwhile to try. @mrsaquelic
This! The detail here is on the bench! You need improved benches because they are cheap and faster than Garrison!
If you play pve build a 3x3 construction (just foundations) and place 4 benches like X cross! In a couple of hours you’ll have 2k reinforced iron! Now we get the materials back from almost everything, so if you want speed, fix a small wooden chest having materials for extra benches and your production speed problems are solved! Even in pvp servers before the tier 3 benches we were acting this way, having 10 furnaces for a night, or 10 carpenter benches etc… But now it’s even better because you take your materials back, which is really cool!
The 1-1 conversion for iron bars to steel reinforcements with steel fire (with a T3/T4 blacksmith) doesn’t work with campaigns. It’s only worthwhile if you already have a ton of iron reinforcements made, then it’s 1-1 from iron reinforcements to steel reinforcements. If you want the fastest AND cheapest conversion, use an improved blacksmith.
Thanks for the tip. In Garrison bench iron reinforcement are barely ticking by .
Yeah, though if I’m not using that bench, I’ll throw a few in as well. Some are better than none.
Nope it still takes more than 3 hours to smelt close to 500 iron reinforcements and that’s with a t4 blacksmith
Damn that is along time.
Faster? these T3 Blacksmiths broke the economy of steel!
it is legit 10x faster than NPC farming!
in 1min you can farm 20steel bars.
in 1min you can farm 55steel bars with a factory
in 1min you can farm 192steel bars with a T3 Blacksmith.
ive tested, it is INSANE
Well, the higher end T3+ Blacksmiths and T4 benches are good, but the lower end could be sped up a bit more in my opinion. I would recommend keeping the top speed where it is, but the lower end starting speeds should be increased a bit (and maybe the mid-tier ranges just a little, too).
Yeah, the top-tier benches are designed to force the player to make a choice between speed and cost-efficiency. Either you get fast processing at the cost of more materials, or you save materials but the process is slow.
The key here is planning your processes. You don’t need to stand there and watch the iron melt. Put the smiths to work before you go do something else (such as Vaults, or an Unnamed City run, or hunting for new thralls, etc.), and when you get back, they’ll have processed at least some of the materials.
When you’re using the fastest bench with a t4 blacksmith and it takes 3 hours more to produce one stack of iron reinforcements that is slow steel reinforcements do not take anywhere close to that time to make one stack
Thanks for the clarification. I haven’t done any time testing with Blacksmith/Forge tiers to work out their rates. I do know, however, that the beginning is very, very slow (like more slow than needs to be).
at the costs of sound. I have been actually foregoing the blacksmith entirely and doing the old way thanks to the harvesting rates…I got iron coming out of my ears.
