PLS Disable living sttlements until you have a fix!

@AndyB
The constant door opening and workers still disappearing is unbearable.
Lost 2 workers again today.
Please disable living settlements until you have a proper fix!

Why do they release it in the first place? Didn’t they take extra time to polish their updates? Yet they STILL deliver the same garbage quality…

Nothing has changed. AGAIN.

They should just scrap the living settlements completely. It’s garbage, the settlements were much more living when thralls just stayed in the crafting stations they were put. There’s nothing “living” about thralls spending all their time sleeping, warming hands by a fire and getting stuck on or in tavern tables??? Stupid idea that’s incompetently executed.

It’s even worse on PVE-C official servers since now you just have trash people going round to bases, waiting for thralls to open doors and just walk looting all placed items, killing logged out players and looting corpses. Just so many issues caused by something that adds nothing to the actual game.

they just need to make it so people can toggle if on and off how much as they want and they can still keeep it in the game to people their want to use it

Honestly I think its pretty cool the living settlements.
and there are ways to stop it manually.
BY REMOVING DOORS, keep all your workers in an area that doesnt have a door they can access. then build your door 1 tile up if you can and you can get in and out from there.

i like to have them walk around the town, and just do random stuff. i think thats one of the coolest things yet along side SORCERY… by far the GREATEST ADDITION!!!

yeah, make builds look like crap so they don’t open doors, thank you but no thank you.
And that they go missing just like that as added bonus, right.
I am not saying, they should remove it, but the definitly should deactivate it until those issues are fixed!
Implementing it like this is pure negligence and if you think that this is great, i hope for you that your crafters do the vanishing trick as well. Lets see what you think of it then

well that was insightful, but no i have not lost any followers, nor do you have to remove your main base doors, you just gotta make a wall that blocks them from getting to that door from the inside. im sure you can figure something out, seems like you have the patience… GLHF

again, blocking the way to the doors would do the trick, but is just a workaround for a negligent implementation of the subject on pve-c and pvp servers.
And the disappearing, which happens widely as you can read from several forum posts, should make you aware of the issue, even if you are not presonally affected by it so far.
If that is your definition of the greatest addition, i applaud you humbleness in expectation management

yeah, of course, greatest addition. Works like a charm

I already preferred to build in such a way that the thralls don’t have access to the doors so in essence this type of situation doesn’t affect me.

But that’s the thing eh? Just because it doesn’t affect me, doesn’t mean it isn’t a problem.

On PVE-C you are afforded the peace of mind of protection to your building without the risk of damage unlike on PVP; so you can build in ways without even having to consider it - until this update.

Staff communication is that door functionality is being worked on. So is it that they didn’t have enough time to do it or they’re not sure yet how to implement it? Anyway, it is clear to me at this point it wasn’t intentional so I’m not even going to posit any musings on that.

I’m in the camp of disable for now.

But @Hiveshadow makes an excellent point: allow players to have global ability to turn it off or on for themselves. I want that.

ohh no sir… when i said greatest implmentation, i was talking about the Sorcerery CLass.

And also would you hypothetically not call your interaction in the game a living settlement itself?
You in your base going in and out, hoping no one comes in behind you on PVE-C, to steal your benches?

well you said one of the cooles t things, but never mind. I am not even start the discussion if i like it or not. At the current state it is worse than a missfire, loosing thralls and being vulnerable in your base while logged out is just not acceptable.
And by your comment I can gather that you haven’t played pve-c.
Noone can seal your benches. What they can do is enter your base and kill you when you are logged out and loot your corpse and this is already happening all over, at least on our server.
Guys waiting at base doors for thralls to open them and slip in, totally new griefing opportunity

well good luck to you good sir, i wish you well on your journey…

I would Like a Option in Settings to turn on or OFF (Old stye Crafting Thralls) which I prefer, because they keep standing in and Blocking Stairs & Door ways, Opening and shutting my Main Gate, So much for Secure bases and I keep opening the thrall s inventory when clicking workstation.

its in the admin settings., the only thing is; is that its Server wide, not where each clan can turn off and on in the bases they want…

that would be a great idea tho… let the players choose which bases they want to have living settlements, like you click to start the purge…

Once again, @AndyB - it would be lovely to get some communication about this and other major issues that you and the team are tracking right now.

And whether or not we are going to get additional patching. Or if we have to hold on and wait to enjoy AoH content after the next chapter comes available.

Which is when?

Since they have the option to make so many other object “no intractable by thralls” why not make doors the same way? :woman_shrugging: Click on your door, disable the ability for thralls to interact with it, then poof they can no longer open said door and wander outside (or let ****s in). Would be a reasonable solution.

Last time this one recalls, the Chapter length was being dialed in at 6 months.
There has not been a comment that this was meant to be temporary.

However they had noted there would be smaller content drops internally to the chapters, perhaps they could be called pages.
So, hypothetically, we should be turning the page on the roll out of Age of Heroes Chapter 1 at some point before April? Which would be about the 6 month mark.

Regardless, this one hopes the chapter internal update has some fixing in it.

You can turn off Living thralls ? I play solo and didn’t see that setting, I will look, because I really hate them roaming around stopping dead in the Door ways, Stairs and etc.
