Free! Because those who are poor want it too. plus the items are reskinned versions of existing items that are cheaper then what a single person has paid. Thats why it’s predatory.
I’m not really interested in discussing if something is predatory or not here. There’s a dozen of other threads on that.
What I want to discuss is realistic prices people will be willing to pay. I’ve already stated 30% less than current prices. Both in these forums, and in other discussions.
Here (Greece) is more expensive believe it or not!
But no, i do understand how you, @Tuffman and @erjoh is putting it and it’s right from this side of view, but from the general side of view it isn’t!
I believe that if you ask the community if Siptah dlc map expansion was expensive in the price of 20 Euros, bucks, you name it, the one who would say yes would be totally out of reality! Most of the community members are over 40yo adults, years professionals, with families and decades of issues, who know and can understand what’s cheap, what’s good and fair and what’s expensive! And bazzar prices, no matter the wallet, no matter the age, are expensive, there’s no doubt about it! So the poll is not silly, it is a honest feedback from people who really love this game, because no matter the language we use in here, we ALL love this game and probably all love this gaming company too. It’s just truth to be told, nothing more! No matter what they’ll decide, they have to know how we feel about these prices, which is honest and fair! And trust me on this one, Scandinavians respect honesty more than anybody else! I wish Greeks was this way too!
75% would be more realistic. The items are reskins so they really don’t hold any real world value because you can’t keep it if the game shuts down.
I didn’t buy Siptah at full price.
Haven’t paid full price for any DLC for that matter.
So yeah, when lower prices are offered, I’ll take them, even if I’m willing to pay full price. Case in point, I went to Subway yesterday with some friends. I was going in intending to pay full price for my meal. My buddy gave me a coupon to save a few bucks and I used it. Why not?
That’s my point. Given the option most people would always elect to pay less when they can. Which is why the poll doesn’t give any information. Its effectively telling us the sun will rise tomorrow.
On 2003, if someone would give me a coupon for something cheaper, i would probably, say thanks no need! Now 2023 i may hug him for the beautiful gesture ! Times has changed, a lot
! But tbh, we stopped abusing literally everything like we could back then, if the eye was hungry it was fed and this was wrong!
I am totally in the same route
Yeah, I decided to compare the bang-for-buck I get on the basis of individual recipes, rather than feats. Any feat can group together an arbitrary number of recipes, so it feels meaningless to compare that number. I don’t know, I guess it just feels more informative to me to say that buying the Sanctum set allows you to craft 21 new things, whereas buying the Headhunter set allows you to craft 9 new things.
Thank you for the kind words. I hope you know that even when I disagree with you, the respect is mutual
You don’t. The sales data does that for you. I highly doubt that @Croms_Faithful wanted this poll to be a replacement for the sales data.
Maybe I’m wrong, but to me this topic looks like an attempt to generate some thoughtful discussion on the topic of BLB prices, as opposed to the usual “fUnCoM iS KiLLiNg ThE gAmE” thing.
You would be surprised. I have seen genuine opinions on these forums that the prices should be even higher.
Had anyone done this same poll for the DLCs, I would have answered that the prices are fine, or maybe even that they need to be higher. And no, I’m not just saying that because of the hindsight, that was the way I felt about DLCs back then, but there was no need to talk about it.
Which brings us to the important question about the existence of this topic: why didn’t people complain constantly about the prices of DLCs and yet they do so for BLB prices?
“Because DLCs were ridiculously underpriced” is the cheap cop-out we usually see in lieu of an actual answer. Sure, they were underpriced. But they also offered a better value for the money we were asked to pay, good enough that nobody complained about the price. Contrast that with the complaints about BLB prices. Those complaints are constant and persistent, and not just from a handful of loud people who can’t stop ramming their complaints into every nook on these forums.
I don’t know about the rest of the people here, but “30% less than current prices” is meaningless to me. The current prices are inconsistent. I would go as far as calling them incoherent.
I would be comfortable with prices along the lines of the Sanctum set. To give you an example, that would make the Headhunter set cost around 515 Crom coins. Of course, there’s always wiggle room, but I most likely wouldn’t go higher than 650.
I’ve tried asking what people wanted for specific prices in the past and got blown off. For some reason, the suggestion I made sticks better.
If I did that, I apologize. I think it’s a reasonable question, although I’m not sure I could have answered it with such precision before they released the Sanctum set.
Cunningham’s Law
Did we really need a poll for this?
Forum sentiment on it has been clearly one-sided; it’s expensive.
Standardized prices would be welcome, but giving the wide variety of things offered for sale, difficult.
I agree that completely standardized and uniform wouldn’t work, but there should be something in-between that and whatever it is that we have now.
I voted the way I did because I think we are still in early adopter pricing and the prices that are up today for some items will come down and I believe that is part of the pricing strategy. When an item I pay for today at full boat gets marked down 6 months from now, I won’t feel ripped off because I want it today. To me, that is “fine as is” because I think a gradual reduction in prices for older items is probably part of the pricing strategy.
So, on that note… at what time does the “bullying of Rockefeller basket-whales who didn’t vote the popular way to prove why such polls aren’t the best idea before the mods lock it” begin?
I’ll be back with some colored torches!
I know you’re joking, but let’s hope we don’t descend into that anyway
I think its a fine thing to poll. I accept my opinion is probably not widely shared. I just felt I should chime in to give the poll some representation of anyone who is likeminded.
That’s okay Don’t worry I unlocked all the colored torches in the BP
might even find some trident skin in there to double as a pitchfork
JK lol…
And I know, it’s just that I’ve seen perfectly normal polls here be insta-closed by mods as if they had some internal guideline to close polls that are anything other than people asking what color to dye their armor in the creative section.
I’ve purchased the Lavender plant, the Small Cypress Tree, the food and table set, the Apothecary set and the Dog and Kennel set. Besides the trees, the others had all been discounted from the original price. I found the prices to be a little high, but that’s not really what stopped me from buying more. It’s the randomness and inconsistency of the pricing.
As @CodeMage mentioned “I don’t know about the rest of the people here, but “30% less than current prices” is meaningless to me. The current prices are inconsistent. I would go as far as calling them incoherent.”
The prices are just so inconsistent and don’t really make sense from item to item. I’m sure the price is based off of something (maybe the work put into those assets) but from an outside perspective, the pricing does seem “incoherent”.
I really want that toilet! Once it actually works and is much cheaper!
I bought both Sandstorm Building pieces (bit overpriced), Stormglass Building pieces (fine with this price on this set), Apothecary Assortment (not sure on this price, so can’t comment here) and the Headhunter Set (bit overpriced but I enjoy the Khitan sets so this went well with my fashion setup)
I think if they lowered many of the item prices down, would be good. I tend to spend money but hold off on things due to prices unless I truly want them. (Granted Sandstorm did not truly want those but thought they were somewhat worth having since I like building)
I’m just a whiteknight fanboy but even I think the prices are too much. Even if they fully halfed everything I’d still be on the fence. The quality of the content is great, but buying a bathroom set that doesn’t currently include a toilet due to a bug for the same price as the entire isle of Siptah is too much in my eyes.
The price is too expensive. and they need to expand their Bazaar. there should be a packages with discount then sell individual items from the package without discount at the same time. so if i only want to get the armor then im not forced to pay for more and get things i do not need. like on the horse before. i just want the sword but I cannot make my self get it because I find the value too much just for the sword.
