The key here is what has never been easier. Is it [defending] or [defending fortress walls]?

Most likely the sentence means that defending becomes easier, in which case the singular “has” is correct. The other interpretation (where “have” would be correct) would mean that those fortress walls are doing the defending, rather than someone else defending the walls; and the walls have become easier, which makes no sense.

Sorry for not using fancy grammar terms; it’s been over 20 years since I studied English grammar.

Well, have you tried adjusting the slider in the settings? I mean, if they put in a slider for that one singular purpose, it can’t be for nothing, right?

I have never seen these in real life either. I don’t think they sell in my country (or maybe in the exotic aisles with foreign food?) :flushed:

As long as we’re talking about proof reading…

Loose: adjective, loos·er, loos·est.

  1. free or released from fastening or attachment: a loose end.
  2. free from anything that binds or restrains; unfettered: loose cats prowling around in alleyways at night.

Lose: verb (used with object),lost [lawst, lost], los·ing [loo-zing].

  1. to come to be without (something in one’s possession or care), through accident, theft, etc., so that there is little or no prospect of recovery: I’m sure I’ve merely misplaced my hat, not lost it.
  2. to fail inadvertently to retain (something) in such a way that it cannot be immediately recovered: I just lost a dime under this sofa.
