[PS4] [Bugs] List of current bugs/performance issues ongoing for over a year

,

Patch ver: 12th June 22, Ps4 Pro, Official server #3181, 750mb down wired fiber broadband with 33 ping, 2TB HDD

  1. Audio doesn’t play at times when running, never plays when sprinting (the same with horseback riding). Various other sounds do not play, such as, everything really (doors, item boxes, animal attacks, melee attacks). There are also many delays with these sounds. Sometimes human’s make rocknose sounds.

  2. Texture pop in/lag is ongoing, it can take a long time; to to 10-20 seconds at worst. This is for animals and the environments, foliage. Additionally inventory and especially storage/crafting inventory takes a few seconds to open, and several seconds to load the UI when aiming at it.

  3. Server/gameplay lag and issues. This is probably the worst issue and has never been remedied. The game will very frequently stutter and freeze from anywhere from 1 second to 30 seconds, the latter often resulting in death and is quite a game breaker for an otherwise great game. There’s bad rubber banding, the play will be stuck running into a wall, or enemies will be frozen in the spot running, but their actual asset will be invisible and attacking you.

These are the main issues right now.
No special requirement is needed to replicate these.

  1. Shield blocking is sometimes intermittent, pressing the block button doesn’t guarantee the character will raise the shield on first press, especially after a melee swing, and requires the button being spammed a bit to ensure the character raises the shield.
To replicate: 1) enter combat, 2) swing a one handed weapon, 3) attempt to block at any point after no longer swinging or when simply locked to an enemy.

Hopefully 3.0 update fixes these issues.

Fingers crossed, I did actually manage to remedy the freeze framing and a lot of the lag/texture delay/invisible enemies by installing the game on a portable Samsung T7 SSD, it’s not 100% improved, about 75%, bases, map screen, inventory screen, storage UI all load much quicker. But players shouldn’t need to do this, I’d strongly recommend it if you play conan a lot, and can’t get a ps5 currently, will speed up other game’s too. It makes the game actually quite playable, no lag deaths or frustrations anymore.

I still hope Funcom fix the issues though as they’re not completely gone, I made a video with the SSD on the left and HDD on the right:

Yah thats what I did and still was laggy and got a ps5 to raid those big bases more efficient. There is no server side issue it is all client side performance.

In my ps4 days, switching the drive to ssd made all the difference. At least there is that option available which wasn’t always the case for older gen consoles.
