So here we are again
Gave the game a break on my PS4 PRO over 6 months ago due to these issues, among many others and had hoped in that time some amount of effort or work would have been put forth for these issues that have existed for over 2 years now
Some issues i have noticed as of today since patch 1.61
- world bosses disappearing after death.
- enemies still teleporting.
- obtained a permanent purple screen effect from gaining corruption in the Unnamed city that did not go away until i logged out & in.
- textures still losing resolution on EVERYTHING (building pieces / environment / enemies / animals / etcâŠ)
- Constant stuttering throughout every area on the map (even in an empty desert with no building pieces or animals / enemies anywhere in sight)
- Audio delay on almost every instance, ie = you hit an enemy & sound arrives 1-2 seconds after / you hit the ground from a high fall & broken leg sounds arrive 1-5 seconds later & this goes on through out various in game instances.
- Target lock, on some enemies only activates now when i am so close i can kiss them (skeletons in War Makers was prevalent) seems to work fine for most other animals and larger enemies, but not always.
- Bug where a message saying i activated a trap in War Makers would continually flash across my screen until i logged out / in.
- Not to mention the constant & consistent lag + stuttering & rubberbanding (which alone is enough to ruin any gameplay experience and at times is expected with some large multiplayer games, but⊠I am playing Single Player OFFLINE)
- All of this experienced within 1 hour of playing Conan Exiles version 1.61 ⊠I would say i am at a lost for words, but i have plenty to explain and describe in detail my experiences.
Any kind of optimizing patch or fix at all in regard to my core issue involving lag + stuttering + rubberbanding should have been implemented a long time ago, but i do have empathy / understanding & patience for outside factors + tricky workarounds + or just time to examine the issue and devise a solutionâŠ
At this point, after 2 years = this should not still be an issue, unless this is the best FUNCOM can do involving the console ports and i would honestly understand that + respect it and move on, but the constant promises of fixes + updates + patches that never solve the long lasting and MOST important issues with this game inplace of outright honesty that you are unable to solve the problem is at this point in time = outright dishonest + manipulative + and utterly horrible choices on your behalf from a consumer standpoint.
That may have come across mean spirited to some, but to me i look at everything objectively and rarely if ever subjectively. This is not me being mean or acting on emotion, this is simply the facts & honest truth about the state of the game now and well the state it has been in for far too long.
I had some optimism when downloading Conan Exiles again after my break from it. Am very sad to say this was not a happy return and the last bit of optimism i had has now turned to pessimism and that is not something i often want in my life and avidly try to avoid situations & experiences that make me adopt this line of thinking.
Before you ask HUGO, i have tried everything you and others have recommended & advised = numerous clean installs + system clean ups + cache clearing + external SSD + disabling Boost Mode + even the worst suggestion i have ever heard from a game developer = to lower my resolution settings to 720p
This particular advice is astonishing, why would an individual who purchased a current gen console (PS4 PRO at that) with a top tier 4k HDR TV would ever want to play a current gen game with 720p settings ??? And because i had a suspicion about this advice due to how absurd it was, i tried it and every issue i have mentioned here in forums as well as thousands of others still remained @ 720p
I honestly believe this is my final post here as i feel all the effort i have put into finding and reporting massive issues with your game are either written off completely + ignored + responded with scripted solutions and fixes that never work + often claiming it is something on my end via installation + internet connection, or a myriad of other blame shifting responses to downright honest complaints and issues.
For a PRODUCT i have spent near $200 on and have continous issues with for years is beyond unacceptable at this point from a consumer standpoint and at a fundemantal level = you have sold us a broken product and even worst you refuse to admit that it is anyoneâs fault but your own. As mentioned before = i would understand and respect a response that claimed you tried your best with the engine & tech you have and are continuing to, but at this point and time this console port cannot be optomized or fixed and we will ensure our next iteration doesnât suffer from the same mistakes. I would honestly applaud you for that and i would have more optimism for any and all of your future products, butâŠ
The path you have chosen inplace has led to these thoughts i am sharing now and my overall opinion of any future DLC + games / projects⊠I have literally lost faith that you are able to salvage this game and making promises and statements that are consistently dishonest has lead to this mindset for myself and almost every person i have played this game with in the past. Currently out of 75 players i use to play with, none of them play anymore and have outright refused to re-install the game. Which currently makes me the gullible one and that does not make me feel good at all.
If you have read up to this point thank you and please know that like any other human i can and have been wrong, you may very well surprise me or proove me wrong in the future, but the point i am making is the experience i have had along with many others is your own doing to deliver us to this point. As we all loved this game and wanted to see it succeed and grow, but i fear this will never be the case if this is how the game and communication with itâs community is handled.
Please also know that after hundreds if not 1000 + hours spent with this game + reporting bugs & issues + interacting with the community on varying levels about problems and solutions + giving constructive criticism + suggestions + etc = none of this was done with ill intent or malice in my heart / mind. I did it because i loved your game, but i fear this is a lost cause and am heart broken to arrive at this conclusion, but it is better than the feeling of being lied to + strung along or manipulated when it involves something you love. It is a horrible feeling and conclusion to arrive at, but here we are
At the end of the day you and other developers honestly have continuously used us for bug testing your game for you (for FREE) as paying customers and even though we do the vast majority of work for you because we either love your game or feel the effort we put in will better the products we have payed $$$ for at some point and time. You have not fixed or rectified the issues since day 1. I am very certain you have tested these issues and many others on all consoles, as to not do so would be blatant negligence on your behalf as a company and still being fully aware of the issues you either deny they exist / ask for evidence on our behalf even though these issues are clearly evident and all you have to do is play your own game on a console or what i find most appalling, you keep telling us a fix is on the way
I do honestly hope i am wrong and there is hope for the future of this game or series, but with that said it is not where my thoughts are sitting.
Thanks for taking the time to read this rant of sorts and i hope you newer players are enjoying your experience as i once did, not long ago. I honestly had more to say, but i am positive it wonât matter or make a difference anyway, i have given up at this point.

- Start the game
- Load into Campaign (offline)
- Play the game (any area on the map)
- Happens in every and all instances you can possibly imagine or ask me (before you ask me)
