I don’t think that, no. Who knows what they think?
I believe it should be kind of obvious. If we have a bad experience, we don’t buy more stuff. I’m reinstalling the game to see if the rendering problems are lessened. If they do, I’ll keep my normal behavior, checking the BLB, seeing if there’s stuff I like, etc. If it stays the same, I think I’ll put the game aside until they fix it.
But you see… I already learned a lesson here. Unless there’s something I don’t know, I’ll never buy those items that can only be delivered once (in this case those Derketo illusion thingies). I don’t think I’ll be able to retrieve them again. So, the game acts up, I reinstall to see if things improve and end up throwing money down the drain, since I can’t retrieve the items I bought and never got to use.
Edit: It didn’t improve after reinstalling. I’m going to try a new game, but my hopes are down.
What have you done to your game, FUNCOM? ![]()
Just FYI. The Derketo illusions are free. They are samples for the DLC to entice a purchase. Apparently the khitan armor illusion earlier had enough conversions to DLC sales that they did the same thing for the Derketo DLC.
I, personally, believe this was an awesome idea HOWEVER I don’t believe they should have taken one of the store spots or I should say should have redesigned the bazaar to include these…samples.
Now if they could actually change the load screens to preset the current bazaar items, I would say they have a fully engaged marketing strategy (outside the F2P switch that I keep harping about)
Are they? I never got to use them. To be honest, I don’t even look at the prices. If I like it, I buy it. Why can we download it just once? I’m frustrated that I never got to use them… Can I do something about it?
Just wait till next time they are around…or when the dlc comes to a discount. I love the deketo DLC because the armors look good and the have the treehouse stuff which is unique and always gets folks confused
This is part of the Derketo dlc? I have all dlcs. I’m feeling very dumb now…![]()
I thought it was some kind of transmog item we could apply to armors so they looked like that while retaining their stats…
I’m blushing from embarrassment now, @erjoh . ![]()
It is a good idea. Now they just need to allow people to trade and loot anything, but not equip it unless you have it unlocked. Then no-one will be using things they haven’t bought, and every piece will be advertising the paid version of itself just by existing in the game world.
Yeah…about that. After spending several years in upper management of private business, I gained some sympathy for the businesses out there because I know what they have to do to keep the lights on and as many folks employed as possible.
Having the old dlc systems fresh in my mind,. I can tell you there was too much exploiting. As in 5 friends each buy dlcs and the share the kits and building pieces…how is that any different than scamming streaming family accounts so that you all can enjoy Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, etc without spending the money for all of them? Only when friends dropped out did the remaining peeps buy and that isn’t a sale that has traction, that is actually a net loss because of the people that left.
I guess whether or not that’s a problem for your business depends on who your customers mostly are, and how much you’re charging.
To use this game as an example: young people without much disposable income are gonna work out ways to share to save money, no matter how cheap you make the prices. And if they’re the main playerbase you have a problem. With something like a streaming service, pretty much everyone uses at least one of them (usually more). If they don’t make it cost too much, then most people are just going to pony up the money because it’s easier than organizing your extended family or friends to share.
I actually don’t think there’s anything wrong with sharing accounts or digital items. My Australian morality tells me if a company tries to use tech means to artifically restrict availability of a product, the consumer is within their rights to try to circumvent those restrictions. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Our high court even ruled years ago that region-locking consoles was anti-consumer, and that we are legally allowed to unlock them. Sony took it to court and lost. We also are pretty relaxed about digital piracy, generally
I don’t do it much anymore because it’s a pain, but lots of my mates and family pirate shows instead of stream.
Pretty much the only argument you could make to me that would get me to sympathise with a business in a case like this is the one you made: that the business needs to restrict things so they can keep afloat. I might believe that in the case of Funcom. I certainly don’t buy it when it comes to Disney or Amazon. I feel absolutely zero guilt sharing those streaming services with my parents and in-laws. Instead I feel outrage when they use things like ISP tracking to stop us from doing it. How dare they!? ![]()
Yeah I don’t know about that. It’s been forever I been having these issues too. They released like 10 upgrades and it hasn’t fixed the main issues. Why keep bringing new stuff if the core issues are not fixed. At this point it’s like a cash grab. I gave up playing a game that won’t even properly reward you for beating bosses. If they won’t fix it there other open world games I can play that aren’t broken. I bought the last pass but this time I didn’t. It’s not worth my time as long as the core issues aren’t addressed.
The game, except freezing and lag, is in good condition.
In my opinion, the only thing that need to be absolutely removed is the "goomba build " (kill people in double jump overweight).
It’s really embarassing let player have double jump being overweight; you removed almost all the stuff that doesn’t make any sense and required any skills, but this mario bros build needs be stopped.
