Yeah, I do agree that there is only so much hand-holding that can be done and can be expected to do. Hence, in game things (voiced accountant concerns, ways to spend your treasure to manage it now) that give players hints without pulling the player out of the game and gives players fun things to do and experience beyond just a new purge. I think it’s the good start of a system but would really love to see more to it as it’s introduced rather than waiting for the ambushes and new purges and purchases that are coming down the road.
OMG! I just realized a potential element as a result of the new feature. There is a real possibility of having a dragon guard an area of your base!!! Disconnected from the mechanics of pets, the options are truly limitless!!! The more I think about the possibilities the more excited I get!!!
Only if @Eradicati0n does the voice over
I concur!
Good to hear, friend. I hope it lives it up to your expectations. I think I’m more pleased with this new Age than I was with AoS, and I liked that one. As a PvE-er, the thought of waging war on camps means I will spend considerable more time on my server enjoying the new feature.
I know I will be applying corruption aura to my sorceror base (if and when that becomes available). A sorceror has coffers too, and they have practical needs as well…
Can’t wait for “spooky lighting” to be a cosmetic to purchase with the coffer.
You mean like everything turns ‘black and white’ instead of color? That used to be the effect when we were swimming and we would run out of stamina.
They don’t need to balance them against other pets the same way.
You come across another easy pickings on PVP, you blast open the sandstone door, and find a green mother staring at you with your “naked gear” while laying on top of a pile of coins. That, is a meme, I would love to see it.
Man, I’m tellen ya, this is the QoL update we have been asking for, just in a clever disguise.
How long have we been asking for custom banners and painted shield?
Oh my Set. I’m going to have to report someone on the EU test server for an obnoxiously obvious TOS violation. Why do people think they can do this?
Next screen cap is a name and shame.
What’s the offense there? That’s the eastern barracks area and the poi unlock is on the other eastern building. I see the only things blocked are 3 regular imp spawns (2 inside and one on the bridge) and maybe a fourth just south of the bridge. Is there more I’m not seeing?
For me that is enough.
Totally on board with everything you’re saying, especially this, great idea:
If that is an example of a violation of TOS then TOS are broken. That’s exactly what SHOULD be done in that temple, excellent base spot. Blocking literally nothing of value. This is a complete non issue. Should be a reportable offence to report this.
I’m coming around a bit more to his idea. Especially if the voice line is a cameo of someone in the community we know or recognize.
Eradicati0n for the male voice and Anabriella for the female voice - sign me up!
Yes and yes. Last night I felt like full weapon combo’s were being gated behind Grit, which sucks. Increase the pool to let players potentially do one full combo without exhausting with the tradeoff being you won’t have enough stamina to dodge.
One issue I have is with sprinting on an empty bar. If you continue to sprint the camera janks back and forth as you gain a point then burn a point of stamina.
For me, the stamina overhaul seems a bit…unnecessary. I haven’t changed the way I fight at all, with the exception that I can roll around a lot more which seems to defeat the intention. This may sound weird, but I actually miss the exhausted state. It just made more sense. It was also an opportunity for you guys to implement a corrupted grit perk that perhaps dramatically reduces the exhausted effect. Just my thoughts.
Overall, I’m not crazy about the change. I don’t feel it was necessary, and it seems that unless you guys revert it, I’m just gonna have to ‘deal with it’. Sucks to say, but I’m a little fatigued from ‘dealing with it’ for a lot of things already in the game. If I had to vote (which I know I have no say in this), I’d say revert the exhaustion change, adjust attack costs so a full heavy combo on any heavy/medium weapon exhausts you and a full heavy combo on lighter weapons leaves you with a tick of stamina but not enough to dodge.
I’m more upset with the performance of AI and thralls right now. My fully leveled Demonmonkey with well-trained only lasted 3 hits against the Arena champion. Not exactly fun, which brings me to my next suggestion:
Can sorcerers get a mid-tier spell that summons some form of skeleton that could act as a temporary thrall for those situations when our main follower(s) dies and we’re stuck in the middle of nowhere without any backup? It doesn’t have to be super strong, just something to tide us over until we can get back home. And for the love of pete can this spell be useable in dungeons?
Some good points, but I am ok with the overall concept of the stamina change.
I understand what they’re trying to do, but I just feel like it’s a heavy handed approach to a solution. I think that dagger wielders and light weapons should not be able to spam 2 full heavy combos in a row with room to spare for dodging. Not cool IMO (and I use nothing but daggers so yeah). But if I were to look at this as a brand new player I’d feel cheated that I cant fully perform a cool basic combo without huffing and puffing.
I disagree, and think that is why POI no builds need to be bigger.
Or even @Pixelcave
