Purge - Crafting Thralls

I only play Singleplayer and usually I always end up going to Sepermeru to get my crafting Thralls. It just is the most convenient with the respawn after leaving render distance and them being passive.

Today I wanted to try something new and I thought I would just start doing Purges starting at level 20 to get some low tier crafting thralls and maybe slowly replacing them with better ones, once I start doing higher tier purges.

But I read that you can only get Fighters, Archers and Dancers from Purges. Is this really true? That would be such a shame. To me personally, I really enjoy the current Purge system. In the sense that I can trigger it at will and at the location I want. There is zero chance for me to lose a building I am not willing to risk. And I like that.

But if I can’t get crafting Thralls, it seems completely pointless to me. For everything I want there is a simpler way to get it outside the purge. For Fighters, Cimmerian Berserker is a guaranteed spawn, so is Du’neman the Dragoon for Archers. For resources, when I farm I farm tens of thousands of something. There is no way a purge could give me that much resources. So far as I know I can’t get Momentum and Reach of the Red Mother from the purge, correct? So there is nothing to gain.

To me the purge could offer an alternative play style to change things up a bit on my 20th or 30th playthrough. Is there a reason there are no crafting thralls in the purge (if what I’ve read was true)? To me it just seems to be a missed opportunity. I am not asking for guaranteed T4 crafters. Just a chance for Tier 1-4 Thralls with lower Tier purges giving lower Tier thralls and T4 being very rare and reserved for purge level something to max.

You can also get bearers and tavernkeepers.

That aside, until they install the hypothetical space future update where craft thralls all work like the Tavernkeeper, there won’t be crafters in cages.

Does you answer imply that Funcom has planned to add crafter thralls to cages in the future, once they update crafters to be more like the tavernkeep? Or did I misinterpret this?

And yes thanks, I forgot about bearers and tavernkeeps, but also do not care about them. Tavern also offers no crafters. T4 thralls neither. So outside of looks also useless to me.

Funcom has made a statement of such intent.
However, keep in mind, Sorcery was intend to be in the game and it took years to show up.
Pets are intended to be improved, but that statement is over a year old.

In short, yes, that is an intent stated in a Devstream.
However, this one would never suggest expecting intent and implementation to follow quickly upon each other.

Even if I can’t expect this to be implemented any time soon, or at all, it is at least nice to know that they are thinking about something like this. Gives me hope, that their plan for the game goes in a direction I personally enjoy.
