We yesterday moved out from the river zone, which has purge protection, to the jungle area. We started to set up our camp and got for first time a purge annoucement.
Unfortunately about 15 cultists attacked us, at least 8 of them with gold frame. T4 thrall had no chance. After 30mins most of enemies despawned as we were not able to kill them with our iron/steel gear
Can someome tell me how the power of a purge gets selected? We are 2 players on our own private server with our own settings. To start slowly with purges, difficulty is set to 2, so we thought it will be managable. But now how does a lvl 6 purge look?
Havent found any background data in the web. Most of it is outdated. Any advice?
The purge is determined by the zone and the level of the purge in the settings but pretty much all areas have hard purges. My suggestion is if you donât want to turn off the purges to lower their difficulty to 4 for now. This should be low enough to be a challenge but now destroying you.
The Cultists are one âexceptionâ to the Purge level. They are tough to defeat and canât be knocked out. Why they are included in the low level purges, I do not know. In my opinion, they are âout of placeâ with the rest of the Purge scales.
I would recommend moving out of their zone or creating a dual base system: (one area to let them attack, but the real base connected by an elevator or drawbridge or some way to prevent them from getting the good stuff). Let them attack the base on the ground, wait for the Purge to end, and then rebuild it. NPCs canât climb, use doors, or use elevators; use that to your advantage. However, if the Purge determines they cannot attack your base, they will âteleportâ inside (not good). So keep everything connected.
A T4 thrall can be from Deride to Dalinsia. Not all the tier 4 thralls are equally powerful. Even Dalinsia or Teimos level 20 with normal heavy gear and steel weapon wouldnât be able to answer against cultists. Do not lower the difficulty level of your server it will make no great difference against your humanoid purge like @Bodin said very correctly either will help you to âlearnâ the game. If you donât want to accept the purge, disband your friend from the clan, then leave clan (you still own your things), create a new clan and invite your friend back. This way the purge meter will totally go white and youâll have the time to prepare correctly for a purge. Remember always that if you are no fond or ready on keeping purge crafters (high risk) palisades work extremely good to answer a purge, the mobs and npcs try to destroy palisades and die from bleeding. Gas orbs help too wear your sandstorm mask keep a shield and gas orbs, go to a fixed small tower with palisades around and throw gas orbs to the purge croud.
The game provides defensive mechanics and itâs smart to use them all. I could give you several advices how to be legendary in two days and answer to the worst purges of the game without issues, yet youâll have to skip all this beautiful knowledge that this journey to the peak has.
As the matter of fact I envy you fellow exile, the days you are living in the game right now are the BEST. Please donât rush it, enjoy it
This was my argument against removing T1 Purges from all but a tiny pocket of the game. Instead of starting off with a weak T1 purge on the River biome, which serves as a great training purge and first time experience, a lot of players first encounters now end up being a T2 purge. These are markedly harder and throw first timers in the deep end by comparison.
The cultists of sobek are indeed a tough purge. They are a level 4 purge, though.
If you had a few mid tier t4 fighters lvld to 20, you would have wrecked them.
Go get some legendaries asap to arm your thralls. Donât delay getting Berserkers or RHTS. Build t2 in the least in that area.
The cultists of sobek was my 2nd purge when I started this game. I knew very little about the game, so I couldnât believe how tough those guys were. Fortunately, the exterior of the base was t2 and I had a lot of thralls (crappy ones though, as I didnât know an exile fighter 3 was crap and they were very easy to catch). But I had black hand t4 fighters and they dealt with the purge satisfactorily.
Go get RHTS or Berserkers. Thereâs no point delaying. These will deal with any purge. If you donât know how, I might have videos around explaining. If you have a friend and already have thralls, this will be super easy. Upgrade your exterior walls to t3 if you can.
Dude, everything up to t3 is warm up (benches included). You need to step up your game. You need resource efficient benches asap. Otherwise youâll struggle a lot. One tip of advice, go for fast furnaces. Otherwise it will take you forever to make hardened bricks.
Seems we were very unlucky and our first purge ever was with the one of the most difficult enemies.
Yesterday, same position, same difficulty we got another one with exiled enemies. Most of them one hits. lol
We are slowly progressing. Most of the things we want to explore by ourself and not reading guides. Asking this question was an exception as we thought we might have made a missconfiguration Most server settings are standard, no boosts. It would feel like cheating then. So progressing slowly but it feels like a success afterwards.
