Thanks, yeah you are correct. the purge is probably doing the correct amount of damage, but thralls are pretty much useless for defense. If they had functioned properly then it wouldn’t have been so bad. hopefully once they return from vacation they can get thralls functioning properly.
As mentioned above, the issue with thralls atm is that they might not fight back properly during a purge. (We are aware and a fix is coming).
We are also not happy with how the Purge works and there are more fixes and improvements already being internally tested.

It might be a good idea to “survey” the community’s opinions about the things you are planning to change, if you understand what i mean…
why not creating a thread about that and ask for the feedback of the community, so you’d be making sure the majority of the playerbase will be pleased by these eventual changes.

We monitor suggestion threads and follow conversations and input/opinions.
That is also the reason we appreciate good conversations that don’t end in flame wars and temper tantrums or name calling

Because I’m waiting to see if the game will get fixed so I can play it again obviously… Why are you commenting in this thread if you have nothing constructive to add and aren’t even going to bother reading the first half of it? If you had seen the pictures I posted above you would know that my base did have a clean line of access. The feature is just broken. It does not matter if you try to accommodate it or not.
It’s so obnoxious how many people take the attitude that just because an issue hasn’t happened to them personally, everyone else’s accounts must be lies or trying to cheat or misunderstanding the mechanic. I carefully planned out my base in a way that would give clear access for the purge. I spent hours and hours as a solo player grinding, farming, and building. Then in 10 minutes I lost most of that progress to a broken mechanic. If it worked properly, there wouldn’t be so many people complaining about it. Also why is there still no Funcom reply to this thread: Please fix the PurgeConfigTable before you go on holiday

but as i can only speak for myself, i 'd like to see a thread were the devs, NOT the players give a description of what they would like and what they plan to change about the purge mechanics. So i and probably many other players can react to these ideas and give their feeling/opinion about it. hope it’s clear enough i’m often struggling to express such ideas in english
i’m not asking you to take an intensive part to the discussion that will happen in this eventual thread (because yes it’s true discussions here can become messy sometimes).
Just write your plans/ideas and read what players are saying about it, and then make your choice on what is best for your game.
Oh and sorry for my impoliteness tascha, i hope you and your colleagues have had a good time during your vacation and it allowed you to have good fun and rest well out of the conan context although i bet once conan is a part of your job it never really leaves your life, even on holidays

I wonder, is there any thought to having the purge happen only to clans that are online?
I mention this for a few reasons.
First, many players on our official server are logging on to find thee base gone or almost and vowing never to play this game again. I know I can’t log on between 6 & 10 every night as I have other commitments. I’m sure most of the community is the same.
Second, it is, when it works correctly, an awesome gameplay mechanic that is so much fun to experience. Its a shame that most players only get to experience the rebuild or rage quit.
Third, if it were to only attack clans that are online, you could run it 24 hrs a day.
This would drastically reduce the major server drag that happens every night as players log on to protect their hard work. It would certainly make the other 20 hrs more exiting knowing a purge could happen at any moment.
Anyway, that’s my thoughts on it. I’m sure many others are similar.

You still apparently haven’t bothered reading the beginning of the thread xD. You are the one wasting time by coming here to insult and contradict people who are trying to report legitimate issues. “It hasn’t happened to me so stop crying.” There are other players in the game aside from you kid.
Dynamic/increased amounts of purges to deal with backlog would be great.
I am also curious about what it means by resisted by T1/T2/T3 buildings. As you are making the fixes to the purge could someone from the Funcom team give more detail on this? Thanks.
1, 2 - Low difficulty in the area around the southern river. (resisted with T1 buildings)
3, 4 - Moderate difficulty in the central area of the map, as well as the Jungle biome. (resisted with T2 buildings)
5, 6 - High difficulty in the Highlands biome, Snow biome, and Volcano biome. (resisted with T3 buildings)
The resist part looks like obsolete and wrong data.
The wiki is already filled with flaws.
We’ve been discussing this as well and are considering it for specific cases.
The danger to this is that if we do this but then end up not “listening” or deciding otherwise the community might feel ignored or not listened to. It’s a fine line to walk

I assume you are talking about official servers, since you can set the Purge settings on private ones.
We’ve heard this a few times here and there. It’s mostly an issue that some people feel they want the challenge.
It would be interesting to see a proper focused discussion on this and see what the majority of the community feels like

yep true but still worth a shot imo. the purge mechanic belongs to one of these specific cases i guess.

I have spoken with some of the people on the Official 1040 server I play on. And one of the thing they ask for is actual purges. We have 1 purge a day that may or may not be called out in chat. But we have 100+ people with full purge meters. And they can often fill it up within days, a week tops. So in short we sit with a never ending purge queue with less than a 1% chance of triggering on a person.
Next issue may be how much humanoid purges the official server setting actually allows. I have only seen a volcano human purge. Everywhere else seems to be monsters because there are lacking humanoids in the difficulty 6 table.
I know this is a PC thread, but PS4 needs some love too Purges are inconsistent, and I am not convinced they trigger as they are supposed to. We’ve tweaked our private server settings a few times, but have still only had two purges. PS4 has also not yet seen the 500 bug fix… although with all the clamor about it on PC, perhaps that was a good thing? It would be nice to have an ETA for the next PS4 update.

I just want one question answered by a developer: who benefits from a purge triggering on an offline clan? Who finds that to be fun?
Even in a perfect scenario- purge triggers, approaches, and is defeated by Thralls with zero losses or damage, you miss out on the XP from fighting, the mats from farming the corpses, or ultra rare, purge only Thralls.
The only ones that benefit from offline raid purges is Funcom and G-Portal when people get fed up logging in to an official server that is advertised as safe for creative building only to find their builds got destroyed because they had the audacity not to be online from minute one of the purge window.
