Purging can destroy other players bases

Basic Info:

Platform: PlayStation 5
Issue Type: Other
Game Mode: Online Official
Server Type: PvE-Conflict
Map: Isle of Siptah
Server Name: 8024 or anyone in pve/conflict

Bug Description:

Pve and conflict are ment for keeping the building safe. The problem is that any other player that has an issue with some other player can create a purge near his base and destroy months of work and loot. It can happen on both type of games (pve and conf). It’s a dirty move for these servers , it’s for full pvp game style. I recommend to fix it fast because there are plenty of players that enjoy ruining the game for others.

Bug Reproduction:

Creating a purge near another players base and lure the purge to the direction of the other players base

This is not a bug, it’s a mechanism of the game. Try to secure your base with tier 3 walls and archers with gas arrows of you play pve-c. Equip gas masks to your archers too just in case something goes wrong. If you create outposts secure them with palisades and try not to leave valuable things im them. Unfortunately pve-c player base is using building tricks to hurt others years now😕. So secure your self and belongings. Last but not least fix vaults, if things go wrong vaults break really hard, they have humongous hp and if you secure them with T3 foundations around even a rockslide purge wont touch them.
Secure your belongings and your perimeter to worry not.

Make a thrall pot with food in it for your thralls too so they can heal and get a buff while protecting your base from purge.

Bug or not it is very bad behavior. You get a notification when you are getting purged, you do not get any notification when someone else’s purge attacks your base. You don’t even have to be online for someone else’s purge to wreck your base. Also as mentioned it can be used maliciously. PvE servers should not have mechanisms that allow players to grief other players, like sayyyy dragging knocked out thralls to wake up and kill another player’s thralls, or killing any enemy on top of another player’s dead body and when you harvest the enemy you also harvest the player. These are bad things for PvE servers.

How about the purge not targeting bases that have no foundations? Is that a bug or a design decision (you never know with this game). But I can make a “safe” outpost with no foundations that is actually not safe when someone else gets a purge nearby.

This demands a discussion and it is a really good topic to start on General discussion (feedback). I won’t say if i agree or disagree here, it’s a bug topic. But please open it, it needs discussion thank you master @arktara.

Thrall pots were great before the Age of Idiocy when they broke them, along with so many other very important things. Thralls very rarely eat from pots anymore, just had a purge last night and an in-range thrall suffered more than 50% damage and did not eat a single gruel from the pot.

Years now on purge i make sure for the ones i care to stay alive, to have always the food in their inventory. Hopefully we create useless pets until we get greaters and each purge is time to epmty my fridges .
Plus i never place a thrall unless it’s my new trainee. So all my thralls placed except the one i train and my private nordeim dancers (lol), are lvl 20 end gear. So i have no fear for my thralls in purge.

Let me draw you a picture of what concerns me. Lets say that several clans dont like you. They build small fake base near you and then they put the condenser (i think thats its name, not sure). Afterwards they fill it with unstable essences and start a purge. When the npcs spawn they draw them to your base . Do you really count on your thralls to deal with it? Or lets say you created portal outpost and they do to it the same.
It can happen while you eating dinner or vacation with family, doesn’t matter you cant control it. They loot all your goods and destroy months of your design just because you know how to play.

Let’s start saying that since 2019 i never had a clan that didn’t like me in pve servers!
I could say for sure that 99% of the pvp clans, my opponents liked me too. So this scenario for me is tooooo far, but let’s analyze it.

The purge that they will manage to draw in my base is a small amount of accursed warriors and archers, because your scenario can take place only in Siptah. So…

Already covered! The Accursed warriors will fall very easy with gas arrows and the reason these arrows will work is because the one who draw them there is present, so it’s all my archers need!
You should know however that if the guy who try to hurt me stays in my base long, another side wave will demolish his structure, so his damage will be greater than mine. Why? Because the waves are never visiting from one side only, especially the Accursed ones, so the mechanism is already correct, because it can hurt the “troll” more!

I always build limited amounts and in places that i know that first, they will bother none and second, no others purge can hit it. So follow the hints of the game… You can build on cliffs and cliffsides…

Follow my suggestions and play safe, without worries!

This happens one way only on pve! It’s called decay chasers…
They run around with repair hammers on their hands, break only a door and carefully only the benches and the chests. This way, they really loot all your base and you find nothing in your event log . “THIS” MUST STOP, because it’s wrong, it’s not pve anymore!

Don’t build for months in a single pve official server my friend, admin wipe is worst than a random purge of a neighbor!

Nice to talk to you!

I honestly see nothing wrong with “decay chasing.” We all do it. I’ve done it several times. The way I look at it, I’ll use the materials and loot. Others may not. The alternative? It disappears before the person logs in. That being said, I’m not heartless. It’s happened to me before. If someone wants their stuff back, I may bargain with them for a portion (I did save it after all and no one else would be so kind I’m sure). If it’s someone I know and like, I may just give it all back, as much as I can remember. Anyway, it’s a game mechanic and a method of cleaning house. If someone’s gonna let their base decay, they should have built on a private server or single player where there’s no decay.

Yeah… I know that feeling. :unamused:

Conan Exiles allows many styles of play, as we all know, but mainly along the lines of ‘What is mine is mine - and what is yours should be mine too’ or as Conan the Barbarian says; “To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.” or “Run from me… and I will tear apart the mountains to find you! I will follow you to Hell!”

That being said, just keep in mind what player types are attracted to which server play-styles and vote with your feet. You can move to some private server if you chose, or modded, or just move to their level and kite monsters and purges against them. Convergence Traps are nasty beasties, but everyone can use them. You can also start dropping a couple of rows of spikes outside of your perimeter wall (always have a perimeter wall with at least one entrance and drop spikes outside that too).

So let’s agree to disagree here .
It’s wrong because it’s a form of pvp. If you ask all the pvp community, the thing that triggers “revenge” in this game above all, is that the opponent has something that belongs to them. But in pvp i can break your base and kill you, in pve-c i can kill you and loot you whenever you exit your rabbit hole, in pve… I will build next to you and trigger purges until i see you desperated!

One thing you must understand is that there’s a bug, since the beginning of this game, that decays faster than it should bases. So lots and lots of people lost their belongings this way. I personally count 10 times all these years, not one, not 2, but 10. Especially on decayed maprooms i may count over 50, i lost counting. So you may see that this base is decaying but it’s not so true that it’s abandoned!
Another bad example was the 168 hours, but with a minus 24 hours trap . So a lot of new players didn’t knew this minus 24 hours trap and a “chaser” had already brought down their base. (we don’t need to analyze how life can keep us away from gaming for a week).

I am in this game and in several chats since 2019. After awhile i visited the forum too. My daily habit is the bug section and the general discussion. The complaints for early decay and bases that disappeared are countless all these years. All these in pve servers .
So no it is not right to loot bases by dismantling them your own, let them decay alone, be dismantled alone and then loot all you wish and give nothing back, finders keepers!

But if you wish the people in “your” pve server to respect you, do what @anon83039162 did years ago on 3728. She opened a chat and invited every single player that’s entered in this server. So if a base was about to decay, we could send messages in this chat so the base would be saved either from normal decay either from early decay.
If however the one who had the base didn’t respond, then if someone loot it wouldn’t be his-her fault, it’s abandoned :man_shrugging:.

No, but i confess that once accidently i destroyed a base of another player. I was on the frost keep farming star metal and lordgangstas (map room) base was hit by a meteor, so i dismantle one foundation to hit the meteor easier and his whole maproom base went poof :man_facepalming:. I learned this by destroying an outpost of one of the dearest members in this server. I couldn’t sleep from frustration the whole night.
Ofcurce when i find the chance i gave back the damage i did, but the feeling was very awful. So, this shouldn’t be allowed, we shouldn’t have the right to dismantle decayed bases on pve servers!

The greatest “minus” of the “right” to loot others is that lot’s of players skip contents of the game because they looted items that they don’t even know where or how to farm them!
My example here is a fantastic builder named Kyle! This guy builds the best argosean ceilings of all times. And trust me, i have seen thousands of builds all these years.
Kyle started the game on 2019, like me, he learned the existence of the wine cellar dungeon 5 months ago. But guess what, his base had plenty of khari steel, pristine weapons and he had the recipes to fix khari armors and weapons .
However, he was never dismantling other people bases, but because he plays all the time full encumbrance, he is always available to loot a lot!
Kyle can go lvl 60 in a day just with his pickaxe :rofl::rofl:, believe it or not, i still can’t, he is a unique farmer! He can pickaxe the whole damn map in a day, he is unbelievable!
Well this unique player is not the only one i met all these years. Especially in pvp servers this was very common, but they had the excuse that they don’t love pve. This excuse cannot take part in a pve server :man_shrugging:.

So my dear friend @jmk1999 i really hope you understand now why i protest so loudly about this wrong mechanism!
It’s not the players fault that this “convenient” mechanism exists, neither the fault of the players who loose from bugs and convenience . It’s wrong and it should be fixed!

If nothing decayed, the servers would clog right up with abandoned buildings and thralls and they would all run like shit. ■■■■■■■ than they already do.
