PvP Official - Am I paranoid, or clan of 5 players appearing out of sudden on low-populated server means trouble?

There are plenty of private servers available right now that are 10x better than any official.

No, it’s not that. There are way too many ways to crook a system - to spoof and ID, hack, etc. And that applies to many. many games, not just Conan Exiles, that’s for sure. It is kind of like playing whack-a-Mole whilst a million moles are tunneling up underneath, many dressed as sheep. I have not seen a single multiplayer, open-world game that does not see its share of abusive and exploitative players.

Regarding that witnit that posted in here before getting their post(s) removed, can anyone in here spell the need to seriously “compensate” for some small thing?

As @Yvirten says above, plenty of moderated private servers out there that are a lot of fun and far more populated.

What i was hating on official servers was raid off and spawn kills. The private servers we were choosing to play was at least with these 2 rules. Other than that on most privates pvp was 24/7 with active Admins all the time and discord pages to discuss.
But the lag fest is the greatest issue of official servers in my opinion.

Oh I know, but to find the right one can be difficult. I have not had success yet.

yup but for pvp server, it is very very rare to find an honest admin (a one that do not favorite those who give credits), but yes there is some, but still problem of private servers is that they wipe very often and have lot of specific rules (dont use that etc)

i started by private server but moved to official due to what i saw happening on private. and despite all problems of official i prefer to play here.

You were right, all five of them are raiding my base now. But they were so brave they didn’t mind I am online. I logged off.

They will find nothing of value there, I’ll just let them have fun, having to deal with maybe 50 fully levelled berserkers and archers with smoke arrows and star metal arrows.

Next day I will take a look on the damage and tactics they used to get in, to take into account for future. :smirk:

well sadly it is not a big deal to kill lot of thralls fighters, it just take a bit of time, 10-15 mn due to what fc did in nerfing to death thralls that were the only defence for an offline defence.

but hehe yeah you are smart, smoke arrow that can cause problem (i always use it) and delay them :=) so more time.

Well I am also expecting them to bomb the whole structure with maybe 15 000 building pieces, in frustration they’ve found nothing of value (except of thrall gear and weapons)

I still just don’t get this mentality - one offers them materials and help, but they don’t want it peacefully, they want to take it by force in attempt to shoo that player of that server.

After that it’s often only their clan left there, so they get bored and move to another server to wipe another completely.

I would really like to study brains of these people, to get to the core of their idea of fun in this game.

well some players like to play on pvp server to only grief others, that part of the population we can see, as i often say, pvp server see the best and worst of humaniy, that what make it interesting, the diversity of profile you can met there.

but in term of strategy, yes you have it, go on sleep on this server, just refresh structure, and they will leave after some time or start play less, which will be also the good time to give some retalation if you want to do it  or search the body vault they will probably do when they leave for real.

They never had any base.

They’ve been there for maybe week and a half and decided to stay just to wipe the server. I’ve scouted every corner of the map and only found their purge base.

When I was stealthily watching them, they’ve been running around like crazy, jumping around, glitching under the textures. I feel like it’s a type of people with special mental condition. XDD

So I can’t get retaliation, they could have been body vaulting anywhere and these even undermesh or in the sky bases.

It just has no point to play fair. Not in PvP, and now after all that’s happening, not even on PvE.

Ya, not really surprising but nice (?) that you were online when they did it.

My guess is that they’re so thirsty for any action so going to a “dead” server is about as much excitement they’re going to get

Considering the state of Officials the last year+ and what is happening right now, probably going to see an increase of transients.

Don’t know about nice, it was one player in that base against five. How brave.

Like I said, I don’t mind losing stuff, but about the progress it’s more tricky.

They could the same way join another more populated server, to have some real action. This is only about griefing, nothin more or less.

Oh absolutely, I wasn’t sure how to really “say” it was “better” that you were online lol

Griefing
ya I agree. I know it’s been argued it isn’t but I’m of the opinion that balance is required and there’s no “winning” in overpowering a non-combatant solo.

Haha well I rejoined again only to say in the chat:

//Is it at least challenging? (no reply)

A griefer silence it is, as I expected, how clever from experienced “”“PvP”“” players. GN guys//

The fun part also is, that two of these guys were dying all the time just doing a Purge as I was watching them, one of them even didn’t survive final fight with the Hand of War.

These are no skilled players, their “power” is just in numbers.

True! But the clan i was playing was jumping servers constantly and never return . On my solo run of knowledge of the game I started from obviously pve servers, but all the microphones were mute, nobody was speaking. Accidentally i logged in on an official pvp server and in the same day 3 people spoke to me. So even if i understood that i was on pvp, i didn’t gave a dime, i finally find people to speak, online experience finally :woman_shrugging:t4:. I won’t lie it was rough at the beginning, but this roughness thought me how to revive from ashes and grow really fast again. I wasn’t stealing or raiding, that wasn’t my interest, my interest was to learn pve and I did really successfully in pvp servers.
I also wanted to make online friends in my beloved game, and pvp gave me plenty. Before i know it i started to jump from server to server, to meet new people and i accepted many invitations on private servers. In this process i met the people that i decided to clan up, my previous efforts were not so successful, because my first teammates couldn’t accept what i wish to do in pvp servers. They were “mad” with me for killing people who firstly attacked me of course but not loot their corpse.
But the French people i joined didn’t care, as long as i was doing my thing successfully they were stealing . So everyone happy i guess .
They stopped in the great “dry”, PlayStation while Siptah was on Beta had zero updates for way too long and many people stopped playing.
Unfortunately they never returned and as soon 2.4 landed after a month i stopped playing pvp too.
I only join once the month a random pvp server to do a speed run and remove bracelet. It’s funny to see people on your tail , it gives spice. That’s how i know about the lag fest on official pvp servers, unfortunately!
It’s sad m8.

Well
In my situation the lag fest was one of the things I included in the passive defense, many thralls in one spot and kinda many building pieces around. :face_with_hand_over_mouth::rofl: Just for the sake of making it harder for the attackers.

I knew that I have no chance against more people clan, even though I might be better fighter than half of them, but challenge like this is only for extremely experienced PvP solo players. I am not one of those and never had any real chance to get better somehow, because on officials players like this just end you on the first sight, and unofficial servers are often shut down just because provider decided it’s not worth it to them anymore. :person_shrugging:

And I so met few nice guys on PvP, but they often move around or are not active at all.

What players suppose to do on pvp server?
15000 building pieces? Single base?

Anything built in the warzone is always target.
Even during cease fires.
Locusts come and go. It is inevitable.

Always build with the assumption that everyone everywhere will try to gank you, all at once.
Using ever tactic, both those becoming, and those unbecoming, an exile.

That they either have nothing, or have hidden it extremely well indicates they either have nothing to lose or need not fear losing. This allows more daring and resource losing raids.

Griefing is a very active part of the PvP meta.
It’s the PsyOps side of the warfare system.
Especially with a clan and no discernable base, one can stay in the offensive and work in shifts to grind the victim down with fatigue and frustration.

But always remember, what is good for the goose can be good for the gander.
An impactful tactic, regardless of how deplorable, remains an impactful tactic and any sword can be used to cut the hand that wields it.

The only question is how badly you want to win?

I have to admit I don’t understand that. If one has a private server I’d have thought (incorrectly, I know), that enjoying the game is most important which should mean that the Admin stands back and lets players get on with it, only stepping in if there’s hacks/abuse/etc. In those cases, I would look about at more populated servers that have been around for a long time. Those are usually a good bet.
I think if I ran a PvP server I would have an Admin login and my own login so I could just play normally, only going in all Crom-like when there’s issues?

problem is a private server has a cost and a admin depend to those who are giving donation, which mean, you know what.

but talking about crom, there is in europe a good admin pvp private server, crom server (darfari, crom, pantos server). but will have a wipe every 6 weeks, and you will have to play with “don’t use that” rules
