At this point i just would like to know your opinion. Would you go back to “Pre age of sorcery” and why?
The game seems broken, possibly unfixable. They launched a totally UNTESTED and broken game. Did I miss something here?

I haven’t played for a while but I know it’s gone through some pretty bad issues with 3.0. I haven’t seen much of any reply on the countless threads like yours. My guess is you’re on a ps4 and funcom has made it so the game is longer “playable” on the older console. Its always the same thing with this company… ignore the issue and don’t let their community in on anything. Which just leaves people guessing and hoping. Then they roll out a patch/few cool looking skins and poof it buys them another month or so until the next thing they break…
They definitely have a lot of work to do. They mainly need to balance the game, optimize and focus on growing pop. This update is good just needs real growth so people can stay on. The way they made it easier to farm was great. The way there isn’t 1 shot bs is good. They nerfed lightning. What they need to do next is a menu over haul as well it’s ugly lmao
My vote is for a version like we had in EA, before the game launched.
Still want a roll back… 95%
Ps4 runs like … words that can’t be typed out with out someone making the “oh” face.
I check after patches, get fed up with how it runs and go back to other games.
They gotta make it free for ps players for a month after they fix it for PS consoles are horrid
PS5 here. Was really enjoying this game for a year now. (played a few yars back on launch was good too). Now you cant really play. It freezes every so often and you have to restart application. Does not matter what console , what version, What hard drive…etc. The problem is everywhere on consoles. They NEVER tested this or didnt care and just let it go. There is no other explanation. For gods sake, the sorcery freezes when i try to cast a spell. The name is “AGE OF SORCERY”. You would think they would have tested THE ONE thing that was the cornerstone of the game. I say ROLL IT BACK. MAke the game playable again until this is a working DLC. They knew something was wrong and still sell this happily to console users every day.
I’ve seen similar posts on pc as well
IT’s not just the bugs and performance/crashing issues. Some of the spells have completely broken the PvP raid/defense meta’s almost feels like Funcom were trying to break their game with this update -_-. EPIC FAIL
They fixed the one shot spell for pvp … although like usual they nerfed it to the dirt from what I’ve seen. All and all the spells as they are are not really overpowered at all.
The bugs/glitch’s/performance issues are the biggest concern and of course the reporting is still very much a problem on pvp severs. It seems to take weeks to report someone for duping and days for a clan to get dev wiped. From what I’ve seen
3.0 isn’t worth the problems that came with it. It should have been held back until these problems were fixed, but they had to get that Bazaar & Battle-pass up, come hell or high water!!! I am losing server population by the day over these issues. There won’t be any reason for me to continue renting a server soon. This whole fiasco smells of someone punching through the office walls to get some copper wiring before the lights go out.
If they need to run a Bazaar with those outrageous pricing to “keep the lights on” then, it’s time to turn out the lights, because it seems none of the $$$ is going to actually fix anything wrong with the game. They’re just selling you high -priced, digital crap without fixing anything while their sights are set on their next broken mess, Dune.
Does Funcom recieve any money from G-Portal rentals? I’m sure they must & I’ve been renting servers for years. Current one has been up since March '21, but it’s at risk of shutting down due to the game being flat-out BROKEN.
No. Put down the nostalgia lenses, the game has always had bugs.
Patience is a virtue.
Just completely untrue, but sure pal.
Yeah, a basic understanding of how game development works
Dude… the game is broken & was infinitely more playable before 3.0 dropped. There’s no nostalgia about it. I have been waiting MONTHS for a fix for a decay timer issue that makes it impossible to keep my pve-c server with decay clean since Funcom released an update that set my server back to default status & broke my decay timers.
What’s worse? Untested, or tested & released it broken, anyway? Because Funcom took the latter route. They KNEW this would break players’ games. They didn’t care. They released it anyway. So, yeah, I’d abso-F’ing-lutely take the less broken mess that was Conan Exiles prior to 3.0.
Attacking people for their viewpoints isn’t gonna help here, friend. We all want a game that works. That’s the goal here.
Going backwards is never EVER a good sign. Admit and learn from mistakes but seriously…going back to what? A slowing dying game that new content was maybe twice a year if we were lucky? No thank you. I support the change…as far as the issues with older gen consoles, that was going on regardless. When you have to wait 2-5 minutes to teleport…why teleport at all?
Untrue, but sure.
3.0 has only been out for a month and a half. It also launched with the fix to buildings spontaneously collapsing due to stability errors, so if we go back is it really any better?
I’m pointing out the hypocrisy in it. Every update is the worst update, moving forwards or backwards won’t change that.
Go dig up posts from 2.8. See how much people hated that update too
Go check 2.7, 2.6, 2.5, 2.4; you get the idea. It’s entirely nostalgia. Once an old bug is patched it’s immediately forgotten about, but the introduction of a new one is the worst thing ever, this one will totally be the game killer, until it’s not. It’ll be patched and forgotten, then people will find a new one to be mad about. The cycle never ends.
Pretty sure nobody who gives a crap is even left. Game is full of nothing but RPers who are happy to have a broken game as long as there are new $11 deco items in the cash shop.
Chicken and Egg situation.
Is Funcom delivering a broken superficial game because the game is full of unserious players…or are unserious players the only ones left here because Funcom continued to deliver a broken superficial game?
I see some serious PvE players actively playing on my Friends’ List, and some of them actively post here. However, there are a very loud few who apparently are responsible for the testing of this, who might have a vested interest in vociferously defending the game’s present state.
The decay timer crap happened in June with a Funcom update that set my server settings back to default. I was addressing your paitience is a virtue post.
I run a server on Xbox through G-Portal, so I’m speaking about the Xbox experience, which was infinitely more playable before 3.0 dropped. Anyone who runs this game on original hardware is crashing so much they’ve stopped playing, so your “untrue, but sure” is very condescending & again, not helping anything here. You just seem happy to go against the grain of the thread, which is fine, but I will not respond to you any further.
I don’t have to dig up posts to know that my server regulars are no longer logging in and my population is dying. My server was fine before 3.0 dropped (besides decay timer issue from June). Now, yellow potions are resetting players’ characters on my server. I have lost access to all of my Watcher gear from Twitch drops. Items are just mysteriously moving when server restarts. Temperwrights no longer craft legendary armor patch kits on the tinkerer’s bench to name a few off the top of my head. There’s a large list of issues that were known about before they dropped 3.0. They dropped it anyway.
I have been playing since 2017, but have never had an update so broken that I felt the need to start posting here. Again, playing on Series X, not PC, so walk a mile in a man’s shoes… eh?
Have a good day, friend.
Would definitely go back to pre-3.0
I miss the game i bought over 2 consoles and no longer works. I have turned off auto updates over this.
How many products can you buy, own add to for years, then turn on one day and it is broken. This is a trend with software. I a happy to use the less optimumized version from 6 months ago. I gave it a lot of leeway. If the PC version operated as poorly as the PS4 or Xbox versions I believe these forums would be screaming bloody murder.
I keep coming back to forums hoping somebody has heard something. I don’t want to get into it with anyone, and I appreciate the many views expressed, but FUNCOM and software in general cannot be allowed to keep hopping into people’s pockets and saying oh I see you didn’t send us $10 this month, the software bundle you bought for $60, and spent $80 each year since won’t work next month if we don’t get our monthly cheque.
The rollout should work, it should not break the game. If it is game breaking it should be optional.
The Software Model that allows items bought and owned should not be allowed to be ransomed users at some future date. Wanna play on our servers you pay. Wanna play on your machine go to it. Play the solo version you bought.
Fair is fair. Right is Right. RansomWare as an industry model is wrong.
It is a trend, it is escalating, and it needs to be addressed. My game worked before 3.0. It took YEARS to get a working version of the game. The rollout broke my game and considering the time and money invested players deserve a working game. I am more than happy to pay for a working online game if that is what I signed up for. I did not. I bought a solo game with an online component.
Would you rather drive a 1999 car that works reliably or a 2022 car that stalls in traffic.
Tough question, gimme the car that gets me home! Your 1999 car’s online module’s needs an update, get bent FUNCOM, I want a car that gets me home.
Keep your value plus!
(just when I thought I was out your topic pulled me back…)…damnit.
