Yes! This! I think they should just bump up the minimum system requirements and drop PS4 support encouraging people to upgrade from that thing. The dated 10 year old hardware is the reason for most ps4 complaints, especially since the game isn’t purpose built for that system, so it’s nowhere on par with dedicated console games… like… I don’t know whether the devs at Funcom even OWN a PS4 lol…
Needless to say, when I showed my loading times and general performance of the game to PS4 people, they were surprised.
Like here…
this is how you get to playing from the main menu…
And this is my loading time at the volcano…
Hardly comparable to consoles where people where dying from the temperature change during the loading screen
Dude. It is 9 years old. Tech has come so far since then. It’s like expecting a vhs to work on a DVD player or having the company give you a dvd just because you bought the video.
I don’t think it helps being on the exact same patch as pc (but remember we all screamed for this) because the console cannot handle the same amount data as a decent pc.
Also with ps 4 issue. I’m really starting to think it’s more of a Sony hardware issue
I completely get it, family priorities goes beyond anything else , and especially in these times with high inflation + heating & electrical bills going through the roof, we have had to do a lot of adjustments in our household too, 1 thing is groceries have gone up in prices with 30-100%, but we are looking at almost tripled cost for heating and electricity, our calculation show that we will need roughly 4000 EUR to get through the 3 months of winter, normally we would spend 1500 EUR on heating and electricity through this period
My wife and I still consider us among the lucky ones, we both have jobs that pay decently, and with our adjustments: no vacations, almost no eating out, only buying clothes on a good sale and only when we have to, also cutting down on other luxuries like streaming which also meant that we no longer have a monthly subscription to Gforce Now, but we can still play the Steam games on that account for free, but we have to live with max 1 hour sessions at a time and then get back in the que and wait some minutes before we can get back into game again, but it works, luckily my son and I both have a decent gaming pc that can handle games like Conan Exiles
Speaking of Conan Exiles on pc, we bought the 3rd installment of it through cdkeys dot com for roughly 70 EUR(Conan Exiles complete edition) roughly a year ago, it has base game, Isle of Siptah + all dlc’s except the latest dlc People of The Dragon, and I just noticed that they have this almost complete edition for roughly 40 EUR now, so anyone else interested, this is a good deal to get into Conan Exiles with the steam version of it
Anywhoo… Times are tough for many people right now, especially in Europe with the war and high inflation, so we have to prioritize on how we spend our money… Just the sad truth, but we get by… day by day
It is funny to me how many of you will turn your backs on others just because you aren’t experiencing the same issues. What a community this is… maybe someday people will learn how to make change. Doubtful though as we can see in real world people only care about themselves.
Point being people are lame for lack of better words when it comes to just being followers. the devs won’t even acknowledge some of these issues or even pretend they care once again.
No I get it…console players have an expectation of a console game being valid with the life span of the console. However, PC players have an expectation that as hardware advances an active game still being updated and developed (ie games as service) should update with the advances. We are in novel times where PC and console gaming is mixing and consumer expectations of both are starting to conflict. Some heavy hitter games have multiple versions of it for each console so it runs on each optimally but many do not. However I think there are now a majority of console players that see the overarching issue coming at them full steam… eventually the game isn’t going to be compatible with these older systems… sooner than later, I fear. Just once I would love to see a company confront an inevitable and very uncomfortable situation where an entire group of consumers will no longer have the product… but FC is no different than other companies that I have seen bury their head in the sand over this and act all surprised when it comes out and they loose a huge chunk of their business.
And here is another one, who thinks he knows more than a book. We wait full details about game development (step by step) with possible pros/cons. Also I would love you to prove your “game development” knowledge with some charts, diagrams etc …
With that said, I don’t care about game development concept. I want working game, where I don’t spend whole week to enjoy 2 hours of game. For me is the same as I would buy a car without wheels, cuz development didn’t have enough time, to put them on.
The game was bugged as hell before, but this time most of the people who bought the game and payed it fair, can’t enjoy it. And from that you don’t need to understand whole business models and what not.
Am I for reroll? No. But I expect things to work in certain degree. From mine perspective game is not even fun atm.
And from post above, people are really leaving servers and leaving this game behind. Way to go “game developers” if you can still call this product a game. For me it became bug simulator.
Lmao wow so it’s not like before bro . This is east to dodge in most cases so it’s not that deep. But a guy on a horse with a lance or thralls and sabres 1 shooting you is cheesy
This is ostensibly a PS4 thread, and I really take exception to the down-talkers who don’t own or care about the console.
I have a PS3, two actually. I love to play GTA on my Phat. It still plays. I can play all my PS2 favorites, like Katamari Damacy or Virtua Fighter 4, and enjoy a great experience with action titles like Borderlands.
It’s weird, like I said before 3.0 I set aside about $100 for new gaming treats. So far, I’ve just bought a new game and another I already own: Borderlands for the PC. I hope I don’t need to painfully explain the subtext here, the cycle continues long after a game’s “service life.”
There should be an OFFICIAL port to the PS4 that stops at 2.9x.
