Question on Single Player Character Copy

I’m interested in trying this, since I have an Exiled Lands save, but I’ve never been to Siptah. I’m just not sure where these save files are located.

Characters can only be copied to maps with already existing save files. This means that if you haven’t played in the Exiled Lands or Siptah yet, and want to transfer to that map, you will have to first start a new game on the map you plan to transfer to before being able to send your character there.

I thought you could only have the one save, how are they determined, and does anyone know the file location for steam on each of these?

I think it’s under ConanSandbox > Saved
since I’ve got game.db and a bunch of game_back_##.db files, around 1.2 mb each.

It’s not about where the save file is located. Conan saves 2 files for SP one on Exiled Lands map and one on Siptah map.

You need to start a SP game in Siptah first, no need to customize the character’s appearance as it will be over written when you copy from other save. Once there is a save file for Siptah, go back to EL map and copy character to Siptah, then exit game to main menu and restart SP using “continue” button. You will get an option to choose Siptah, and when it starts, your copied character will be there.

Hope this helps. :sunglasses:

So, the character will be fully in the Siptah save file. So I should be able to copy right back over to the Exiled Land, carrying inventory or stuff, if there was something in Siptah I wanted, or vice versa ?

Yes

Thanks

Actually, you can have one save per map. In Single Player, I currently have one character on Exiled Lands, one character on Isle of Siptah, and one character on Savage Wilds (map mod). That’s three different characters on three different maps each with their own save.

And there’s a mod that I’m waiting to try called MultiChar Conan Exiles :: Steam Community. It allows you to have multiple characters on the same map. So I can play character A and set up a really large base, and then log out and log into character B and perhaps try to raid it. But I’m waiting for Age of Sorcery to launch and the mod to get updated before trying it.

I was referring to the base game (excluding mods). One save per map is also accurate but I said two since there are only two maps without mods.

I have been using MultiChar, but only with my single character.

All it does is when I load the EL save, it starts the load screen, then pops to like a grassland area and my Exile is standing there, with their name on the right side, to select and click Play.

It works fairly well, at least as far as I can tell with just one character testing in it.
