How to transfer server to single player

I would like to take my current private server to single player and work with it there for experimental reasons.

Does anyone know how to do that?

Feedback is much appreciated

Very easy, have done it many times in either direction. Just copy the game.db (saved game file for Exiled Lands - if it’s for Siptah it’s the DLC_Siptah.db file you want, or for Savage Wilds it’s savagewilds_game.db) from the Server’s Saved folder. If it’s a GPortal server you use FTP program like FileZilla to access it. Once you’ve copied the file or files you need, just paste it into your local Single Player Saved folder (if you already have a Single Player saved game you want to keep, just change its name to whatever you like before pasting the other one, to revert to it just remove the other one and change the backup name back to game.db. Let me know if more detailed info required.

Oh and if using mods on your server, add them all to Single Player and play it once before you paste the new saved game in there. Have had horrific panic moments seeing entire builds destroyed or missing followers etc due to mods not being same as the ones used in the saved game.

Thank you very much for replying

When i copy the game.db file into my Saved file, then start up single player (continue), the game file is overwritten by my previous singleplayer game.
Changing or removing the backup files result in either a total new game with new character creation or game crash.

Hope you can advice
Happy new year!

Here’s what I just did and it’s working.
This process is copying from a server to local PC for singleplayer play. I’m guessing CO-OP mode should work fine, too. I just haven’t tested it.

As a previous poster suggested, I used FileZilla to download the root folder of the Conan server.

I backed up my previous local saved game folder so I may restore it later if I wish.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox
and changed the name of “Saved” folder to “Saved.bak” .

I went into the downloaded files from the Conan server, found the Saved folder and copied it to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox

Next go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved.bak\Config
and copy the “WindowsNoEditor” folder.

Next go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved\Config
and paste the “WindowsNoEditor” folder here.
You can delete the “WindowsServer” folder.

Launch the game, go to SINGLEPLAYER/CO-OP and CONTINUE, choose “Activate CO-OP” or “Play in single-player.”

If you’re wishing to take a local game save and use it on a server, I’ll let you figure that out. Also, when I downloaded the files from the Conan server, there were many auto backup files by the server service from the past couple months (like game.db-2024-02-28_20-25-43.gz) that brought the total download to 650MB, but after deleting those the folder is now around 150MB. No less, I’m still keeping a separate perfect backup copy of the server files for archival purposes.

Question
(and I know its been awhile since this was posted) but did you have an issue with dimensions (fov) after moving your server to your computer for SP?

Mine just looks ‘distorted’ now. Almost like youre looking through glasses with the wrong prescription or a fish lens. Any ideas how to fix that? I’ve tried the slider (it changed it after I moved the save over and loaded into SP - it did that with all the settings)
but it still looks off. And performance is bad. But I can’t figure out what I did wrong.

Hiya

Sorry for late reply, I don’t check the forums that often anymore

No, I had no issues. In fact, it felt like graphics just got a tad more detailed.
