Reasons why the game is dying

can you please name it?

No, we just know this game well.

Redrick… this guys are right… Why would you ask anyone to name bugs, glitches and exploits? There is just to many to make a list… And Toranes is talking about Casual players (normal = casual) and he is right. Such players has no chance when it comes to PvP… This is simply buggy and unbalanced game. I think I enjoyed ARK for longer period of time then CE… and that is simply 1 terrible dino farm simulator, yet still CE managed to end up worst…

Dude you are just an fanboy of the game. Like your posts in other threads " there are no unraidable bases " LOL you are the person who not know the game well.

They do not know what they are talking about. Game breaking pvp exploits are fixed, and last time we saw speedhack before BE update.

All my community are regular players, but we love pvp and do it. We have our real life and work, but we try to play the best, not whining on forums.

When i see that boy from pve who ā€˜know how to improve/fix my pvp experience’ i wanna ask him to come back to his t1 castle and grow some more plants.

… then i come to forums and read about SL is OP I laugh. So i try to ask what definitely this author mean.

haha
man, i hate this game more than you can imagine cause i know it more deeper than you
and when i say that this base is easy pizzi you should to know that i’m right

ā€œgamebreaking PvP exploits are fixedā€ LOL are you drunk? Just take a look in the Patchnotes for the upcoming patch. There are 7 notes with locations where you can build a base under the map is that not gamebreaking for you? Is Vault spamming not gamebreaking for you? Is the Set god not gambreaking for you if he ignores the godprotection and onehit t3 buildings? Whats with small bases inside the small god bubble where you cant raid with orbs or trebuchet and cant climb high and place explosive jars cause the spikes? This ist not gamebreaking for you? Repairing while raiding, for example in caves, is also not gamebreaking for you right? yeah you sir are an expert in this game " gamebreaking exploits are fixed" LOL.

It’s Player vs Structures for me. And this $hit does not prevent me from killing the inhabitants of these meshes (PvP - feel the difference).

I do not need any loot so I do not care.

We use Set and it has died in collision with bubble. Do you use it by yourself or just read on forums?
And i remember the time when all avatars have done a good damage. Once again, there are no gambreaking things in PvP now.

start to learn how to raid… try to join a good clan

i do not like this feature, but it not prevent me from pvp -) Stop whining try to play smart.

The set god is immun to the big main god bubble. The small one kills him yes. Your other answers are just completly fanboy nonsense. Noone care if you kill someone in pvp. I killed many players too but the problems are around raiding and building. " search a good clan " a good clan cant raid a base with small god bubble and spikes . noone can do this. If you raid a base which is complete inside the small bubble on a high tower with spikes inside the small bubble pls upload an video i want to see how pro you are :D.

you are start to move to the right direction

… I do not need to prove anything to you

on my server that I run have yet to see any unraidable base. And I have seen major clan battles. I have yet to see anyone attempt to make underground bases that are exploits… Because I do not allow it. What I have seen is players build t1 bases in the north. I have seen actually bases with wide obvious flaws that are easily overcome if the person read or asked. Instead they build foolishly and they get raided and then they never speak in general again or discord and they quit.

I sure wouldn’t PVP in such a buggy exploitable game and I have pvpd in every MMO I’ve played.

This is not an MMO. That’s your first mistake. As far as exploits I played from early access through launch. The key is my experience greatly increased playing on private pvp servers. Till I decided to run my own server. Official servers are like the wild west. The players are the one’s who have to manage it. The problem is that players tend to want to go for easy low hanging fruit. Example… "You are an experienced… clan… you see tons of t1 crappy bases … and then you see some few t3 bases. " You ignore all the t1 crap hoping they will upgrade… And instead what occurs is that the t1 noobs do nothing and then eventually they fight in pvp and lose and they never return. You raided the few big t3 bases that had flaws. Those players lose their minds and instead of learning from their mistakes… they rage and they leave. Typically what happens with private servers is that players sit waiting for that server to get wiped and they jump on when its fresh hoping they can get a foot hold. The problem is those waiting… never learn from the experience and they build the same style bases… or they don’t learn how to fight or build properly. So they rage and blame funcom.

Jeese…
The more I read the more i’m convinced that Funcom finally considers PvE an equal of PvP, and not just a sterile sub-set.

PvP truly is in a catastrophic state. But… to be fair, building and PvP only works in Real Time Strategy Games…

ARK has tried to balance Official PvP for 4 years. It is now in a state of eSports (sterile fairness), up to a point where things don’t quite make sense anymore in Official PvE, due to the PvP restrictions…

and YET there are Alpha Tribes, who rule the world. That’s one thing that will simply never change.

No amount of game mechanics is going to change that, in a survival game.

Instead of players learning from the best they blame them and they rage and leave. They swear Alpha clans are a curse. Instead of understanding that the reason that clan is alpha is not because they exploited or played more then them. Its because they actually were focused and learned on how to build bases better and learned to kit their characters better. OR learned how to harvest faster. Its always a sad suprise when the player get on my players I see they have like. 800 hours of play time and then you see the base they design and you realized they have not learned much from that 800 hours…

I’ve played on Jedi’s server, and it has a good community. He is right though, when we ā€œConquestā€ were playing on Savage Lands, lots of T3 bases with massive flaws were raided by us. Not many players are willing to rebuild after being raided, and rage quit. It was disheartening to see seemingly good players up and quit when they get hit. Especially on Jedi’s server, as he has ā€œ24hr raid protectionā€ which is rare but a great feature for a private pvp server.

I’ve played Conan from day 1 to launch to now. The biggest issues I see that haven’t been fixed are:

  1. Server side lag;
  2. Server side FPS loss;
  3. Code stability; and
  4. Minor bugs and glitches.

If you want to see your FPS and Ping on PC, hit ~ (next to no 1 key) and type ToggleDebugHUD, then hit enter. A little HUD will pop up in top right hand corner telling you your frames per second, ping, and number of players on your server. I’ve played on some very good private servers Exliled Legion for example, that have consistent 30+ people with low average ping (95avg) and high FPS (30+avg). On those servers PVP is solid.

Many players don’t realize the progress PVP has made, and the intricacies of it now vs. day 1. Your build matters, your armor matters (no not just Silent Legion), and your skill matters. If you pvp somebody that knows his build, had good armor and weapons, and is skilled, you’re probably dead in 4 seconds if you don’t. Hacks? No.

I’ve killed 4 people (2 in silent legion and 2 in medium) when they were attempting to raid my base on Jedi’s server. They got caught in a bad spot, and didn’t really know how to fight well. Lag or FPS issues could have killed me easily, but the server ran well at that time. We successfully defended our bases there and left his server before a wipe, relatively undefeated. We did that after being pounded and wiped several times when we were transitioning fromT1 to T3, and after merging with a small clan that needed our help. Not quitting is something that Funcom can’t fix. People that give up when they get raided… well it’s sad, but even if the game was flawless, those people would quit anyway.

The perennial problem is balancing between the hard core 24/7 gamer and the causal 4-5 hours per week gamer. The only mechanic that can balance that is a time restricted server that limits your access to a limited number of hours per week. Even that would be difficult to find the right number of hours. Old BBS games used to be move restricted in that you could only make a certain number of moves per day. I believe some Facebook games are the same.

Other than implementing something like that, the casual gamer has to make peace with playing in an environment that includes hard core players. Even FC has stated that they are not going to punish players for having more time to play the game than other players and they are right. As a casual player, I feel that it is up to me to find an environment that supports my play style, whether that is in SP, official server, or private server. FC does not have an obligation to balance my 12 hours per week against someone else’s 12 hours per day.

This disparity in the amount of time available to play is the greatest source of frustration in every online game because there will always be players with lots of availability to play. They will be able to gather more mats, build more things, and raid more often. Short of joining a private server of friends who all play in the same style, there is not much to be done. The game can still be fun for a casual palyer on an official server. The player just needs to adjust their expectations and know that they will not be able to compete with hard core players.

A 10x server allows a casual player to build up swiftly. The issue is many of the players don’t research how to take advantage of that advantage. They still build bad bases. When the game launched My server had 70 people on within 3 days. The issue was a grand majority were super new to the game. So when they got raided they didn’t handle it well. grand majority quit.

I haven’t been playing Conan Exiles for a few days, been driving competitively instead. I have an Evo Final Edition, and it helps me iron out some thought processes for work, writing and video production.

Driving the Rifle Gap yesterday I thought about the STI that hard oversteered behind me and as I hit the hatchery and the best personal time yet it occurred to me that even while driving a high-end computer, you must not make erratic course corrections.

Throughout all of my ride through Early Access, Conan Exiles was one way. Now it’s another. At some point somebody decided 2X harvest was a good choice for Official PVP. Yet Official PVE is 1X vanilla all the way.

2X Harvest = 2 heads per NPC, two keys per boss. 2 times the skins, tar, demon blood. Why was this done? And why are we surprised when the whole PVP game goes off the road, except for those who wish to play with bombs all day?

i run a server with 10x. Meaning anyone can build insanely quick. There is no need for someone to rage quit because their base got raided. YET plenty of players do. Think about it… On a server where going from 1-60 and from sandstone to t3 takes only a few hours. Yet players LOSE their minds still even though the server is designed to give them more then a fighting chance to rebound. The server has 24 hour raid protection. Meaning you get raided once you have the choice to ask for protection from one of my admins or myself. Do you think players take advantage or do they rage… I have sadly seen plenty of players give up. Despite them not having played on a official server which is far less forgiving , they still react as if the world is coming to an end. I have cut my teeth on brutal games in the past. and I spent over a thousand hours plus playing early access in conan and being on servers with no raid protection no active admins or admins who did not care. I did not give up. I did not rage quit and leave the game. I refused to allow that to happen. Competition fuels my desire to keep going. Sadly too many players just fold like a house of cards.

Today i read the super big 500+ patch will come in August xD. R.I.P Conan Exiles. I cant understand this. There are 80-90% things in the patchnotes which not needed to get fixed now but nothing of the gamebreaking bugs/balancing issues are in at the moment. I bet if we wait until the patch, we will have a patch which fix complete unimportant things.

Good job funcom ruining a game with so much potential with your completly wrong priorities like DLCs and fixes for the DLC 4 days after it got released.

I’m just glad I didn’t let my stuff decay on ARK. Looks like it’s time to put Conan Exiles on timer refresh-only mode.
-_-

Fixing armorers and recipes is all I really wanted…
I was wanting this game to carry me over the summer… It’s so ironic that No Man’s Sky & ARK will do this now.
