I played TSW for a long time during the release and have been thinking about this fantastic game a lot lately.
I was looking for information about The Secret World Legend and read that there are only a few 100 players active, which in itself wouldn’t be a problem.
Is the unique atmosphere still there as it was back then, is there a great community that helps you and is it still worth playing the game?
As I said, I think about this game a lot and am thinking about getting back into it.
Secret World Legends and its community are still buzzing along!
The atmosphere, story, and sweetlings are all here, and the community continues to be a wonderful, warm bunch of helpful bees!!!
It’s definitely always worth it to come back to us and sharpen the dream.
As for player population count, nobody other than Funcom has accurate metrics, as Steam population data does not account for those using the standalone launcher and is thus generally an underestimate.
Thank you for your answer, I’ll take a look again soon.
I think there will be enough players left to keep the game alive, there was a fan base from the beginning.
Heya, I have just returned to SWL after a few years away; I also was seriously missing the atmosphere, ambiance and uniqueness of the game. I have been playing it daily the last 2 weeks and have met a great bunch of really friendly helpful players and it has been fantastic to be back in the game again. There is still a dedicated player base in the game everyday and I am seeing other new players in the lower levels so it may be that it is picking up again population-wise. I can also say that in the 4-5 years I was vacant from the game there have been a number of QOL adjustments to help players get around-especially with the cliff areas of the City of the Sun God zone; that place drove me crazy back in the day trying to get where I needed to go. It is free to play and from what I am seeing all progress in the game and in gearing up can be done without spending real money but the option is there with the arum sales thingies if someone wants. All I can say is give it a try and
see if you like it as much as you did before; I am enjoying it a great deal right now =0)
Thank you for your words.
I’m going to install it this weekend and immerse myself in this fantastic world again after a long time. I’m really looking forward to it.
The question that I’d like to find some concrete info on is has the main story been continued or finished yet? My main played right through the storyline so far as it went -ending in Kenya with rumours of strangeness in another part of Africa- but every time I’ve logged in since then there seems to have been no further movement on the main story. I’ve pretty much given up on logging-in but still hold forlornly to the hope the story will be finished some day -or at least moved a bit further along. That would get me back: great as the atmos and much of the gameplay (I will die on the hill of platform jumping having no place in an RPG adventure game) is 1st rate and it’s a shame the story feels so unfinished.
same just returned to TSW classic, way better than legends lol, awesome community, daily dungeon groups, weekly raids! it’s got a dedicated community still
TSW itself has a small but dedicated community that still runs nearly all content. All 8 Classic dungeons and the AEGIS dungeons and lairs are run pretty much daily, and all three raids are run in both their elite and nightmare versions at least 4 times a week.
The only content that isn’t run regularly still is PVP. El- Dorado and Stonehenge are pretty much dead. A few times a year the community will organize a Shambala event though, so that still sees occasional action.
I visited my acount page and unable to download the localcongifg under the download button. Is is broken? How am I suppose to play the original secret world?
It’s an XML file. You’ll need to right click and save it. Otherwise most browsers will try to display it.
In addition, the link is unsecured HTTP rather than HTTPS, which modern browsers will often attempt to block. You may need to specifically allow the download to proceed.
After you’ve downloaded the XML file, copy it into your TSW installation folder.
