I am a returning player and I was wondering a few things: (1) Are there any UI mods that still work with the current version of the client? I have found some 2019 versions of Stonerune, Strange, and Corruption, but no idea if they work. (2) Is Guardian still a good tank for group content? Still only viable sword and board? (3) How is the population now? I saw some metrics showing that an average of 1800 online at any given time over the last three months on Crom, but are the majority of those 1800 max level or is there a nice distribution of levels. Last, but not least, (4) If I sub, is there any way to turn off the bonus 30% xp?
I don’t think there has been any important changes to the game since 2019, so any mods that worked then should still work,
Guardian is still a solid tank. Sword+Shield is recommended for tanking. It is possible to tank with a polearm, but you had better know exactly what you are doing if you try it.
Population may not be great, but there are people doing stuff at all levels. Always a bunch of low-levels running around in Tortage.
You can’t turn off the 30% bonus xp, but you can disable xp gain entirely.
You can update any old ui with the aoc ui updater to have the correct filenumber in it. The old uis might lack some of the new Shards/Values and can easily be added by editing the xml files.
Thank you both so much for your answers. After some trial and error, I have decided to go with the Corruption UI from 2019. Further, I have decided not to sub, at least for now. Look forward to joining y’all in game (character name Drebian).
