The heavily nerfed combat stamina changes have greatly effected combat for the worst… The flow is WAY off now. Please have stamina regen like it did pre-patch or at least bring back rolling thrust to how it was (I understand Sword of Crom needed to be addressed lol but maybe there are other solutions?).
It feels like we are running out of stam every 3 secs and it feels like forever to come back. I used to be able to have a chance soloing a 2v1, but now im not so sure.
Personally am not a fan of the stam changes.
As far as my other issues with this update, it seems you guys are already aware.
There’s been no development changes to stamina since Age of War started. Only servers have changed their settings (if they have even done that). Check with your server admin by their preferred contact method.
That said, there have absolutely been changes to stamina. Rolling thrust no longer provides a no cost stamina buff and they’ve raised stam regeneration from .1 seconds to 1.0 second.

Fine with that. Again, my main request is a change to the Stamina regen. You may have been unaware of it. So maybe others were too. This is just feedback, which they ask for.
This is an excerpt in a conversation about roll dodging. The concerns at the time was at 0.1 values, roll dodging was too frequent. Exacerbated by Rolling Thrust.
My solution was to introduce a bit of risk to overly dodging (you dodge 6x in a row, you pretty much die to a pressing opponent). It would also make disengagement harder (get into a fight, you need to finish it, or be really good at running away).
In testing, they went with a compromise, with values being 1.0 and 2.0. There was some pushback against the 2 seconds, so it was made 1 second instead. Prior to Age of Sorcery (aka before any changes since Siptah) it was around 1.5 and 3.0 though the settings didn’t exist and those values were pretty much hard coded.
Ah gotcha, well, naturally I just understood you werent aware since you said there have been no changes to stamina…
To your other point, about how stam regen used to be pre AoW, that was fine since attacks took less stamina.
All in all, its all preference. But since this game is so buggy/laggy, the whole “you get engaged, you need to finish it” argument doesnt always work since rubberbanding, lag, Stam not returning bug, and attacks not registering require players to have a way to disengage and get their bearings. Not just from the other player, but also the game itself.
Honestly, if they stabilized those bugs, I wouldnt have to much issue…
I said no development changes. They literally just changed some values in a text file for their own servers. I’m not even certain the change went out to every server.
I have no interest in discussing balance or features that have to bandaid around mismanaged servers, bad connections, or players playing on servers outside their geographical locations. I don’t see that being relevant. If your server is underperforming, that is between you and your server admin, on their preferred medium. The issues you are describing indicate a server restart is needed, and if that’s a FC server you can use Zendesk to put in a restart request.
Yea I switched up my attributes to have a bit more stam. It doesnt help as much. The main issue is no matter what you do, the stam takes too long to regen, even if you only swing once.
I understand having to remedying the excessive rolling, but either you have weapon cost a lot of stam or you have stam regen slowly, you cant have both, combat just feels too slow and off.
I think it just needs some more balancing. I agree the rolling needed to be addressed.
The way they screwed hyper armor in Ch2 has necessitated 10x more rolling. If you are fighting a dozen raiders at al-Merayah you need a ton of stamina and fast regen. Any of them glance at you and you are interrupted, meanwhile half of them are swinging hammers and maces at you and are nigh immune to being interrupted themselves.
Hi Taemien, can I ask where I can find the “StaminaOnConsumeRegenPause” in the Admin setting? Or at least see this setting on my Single Player? cos I want the same experience both online and offline. Thanks~
Best way to reset specific settings is to delete the lines in your config file (at the location I indicated), since Funcom will automatically recreate them with default values on next start up of the client/server.
