hi! i will go straight to the point, while i do not like how the updates have been implemented, and the content of it i can tolerate problems, thats fine, it can happen.
but i cannot accept when you break things entirely that were previously working.
So here is my suggestion, just rollback the game to a more stable version, or add the option to be able to choose the version we want to play. everyone happy.
you can say its a stupid idea if you want, i don’t care, i would love to play the game again when it was on the point i enjoyed the most.
They won’t do it, but I’d welcome that. At least in single player, let us desubscribe from updates. That way, we can keep using the mods and continue the game the way we want.
This won’t happen at this point, because it would also require everyone to restore backups of their game databases from the time of that stable version. Funcom could do that on official servers and erase weeks of progress for everyone, but even if they did that – which they won’t – private servers and single-player games would be affected the same way.
This is a good idea for players, but Funcom probably won’t see it as good for them. If they ever do this, it will most likely be when they decide to pull the plug on the game. And even then, I doubt they would do it, since that would merely be a gesture of caring for the players, and they’ve shown that caring for the players isn’t as important as squeezing out every drop of profit.
If, by some miracle, they decide to implement this without pulling the plug on the game, don’t expect any versions before the Age of Sorcery to be available, since that would allow people to play without being locked into their monetization schemes.
It isn’t. It’s an idea that would be in the players’ interests. Please don’t take my reply as a criticism. I’m just giving my opinions on what you can expect from Funcom, which boils down to “precious little, and focused on milking the players”.
