Ruins of Velstad chest has been broken from day one of official launch. We just had a rework of the lot system yet the chest is still broken. Follow the ghost bear and it will lead you to a chest that can’t be opened.

Upon checking the chest that you’ve referred, it appears to be working, as it can be looted.
Could you please try it in your SinglePlayer and let us know if you can access it or not please?
Additionally, are you perhaps using Mods in your game?
If you find the issue happening again, please send us a screenshot/video of the error message/bug, informing us of all the details so that we may investigate properly.

I’ve done it on 5 random official servers, one private server, and in single player. No mods. Chest didn’t open. No error message given. I flow the bear, chest rises, all attempts to interact with chest fail. No messages or errors.
I stopped following the misleading ghost bear years ago as the chest was never lootable. On any server I played on.
I have checked the chest after every update since it was added and made other posts on the forum about it. It has never worked.
I’ve checked it several times over the years on my private server and it’s never opened.
I have noticed that if you spam trying to open it, when it eventually sinks back into the ground the chest breaks and a loot bag appears.
Just checked it again now, and it does not appear the loot was updated.
Yeah, this is the behavior I have observed as well (though I didn’t attribute it to spamming interact). Occasionally, the chest disappears and a loot bag shows up in its place. It’s never been actually openable and the stuff in it recently is pretty common so not worth the effort when I can farm that stuff faster on my own.
Mee too. On ps4 it never ever opened, never, no matter if it was official, private or single player, simply never!
But now since @HighSaint and @Kubotai said it’s working, i will check it again, you cannot imagine how happy i’ll be if it opens after all these years. Later on i’ll let you know. @Anglinex thanks for bringing it up

Yet when it sinked back i took a lootbag. The most valuable in there was 2 underwater breathing potions, hooray 
. But it’s a progress, at least i got a lootbag .
Such a shame for new players in particular. I remember the first time I found it I thought, “Oh wow, this is WAY cool…” Follow, follow, follow… CHEST!! Amazing!! How do you open it? It won’t open. Am I doing something wrong? It’s gone? I should try it again. Same thing. Ah well, I GUESS THIS IS HOW THIS GAME ROLLS." And as much as I love this game, that right there is the number one beef I have with it. It needs polish and fixing in so many areas, way more than it needs brand new mechanics.
I love finding the hidden ghost chests. Found one recently I never knew about outside New Asagarth. It’s always a nice little surprise.
I just had a thought. What about the “River’s End” chest? I keep forgetting about that one.
That one usually works for me, as long as I go in the water (ghost doesn’t show up from shore). But I think the contents are also lackluster/not updated.
If i am not mistaken there are 2 swimmers hidden chest. The one in in the middle of the main river and the other on the northern river to the southern lake. The most used ghost chest for me is in the Darfari lands across the tower of bats. It had a big chance of spawning steel tools, so “once” that the map was big for me, this loot was very important.
