It could be a separate branch in Steam where you select an older version of the game.
There are so many changes to the game that I am feeling a little melancholic to see so many coming at once, especially the one related to building. I love having pieces on my bar and not going through an inventory selection everytime I want to use a different piece.
I really like the melee focus on characters and the lack of sorcery because it makes those places more interesting / athmospheric when you visit them and gain corruption, because they are an unaccessible mechanic to the player.
I like just having my DLC that I own remain with the game that I bought, before this Conan Exiles 2.0 changes everything. I really don’t want the game that I now know and love to go through that many changes, including the perks overhaul and who knows what else. An in game store and a battle pass to boot? The game we have now will be drastically different from what is coming.
Not everyone is bound to like that. And we have spent a significant amount of money in Conan Exiles, and have been with you from the beginning. Please don’t just throw the current game away into the trashcan. Some of us love it despite the flaws. Please don’t abandon that support we have given you when you launch Conan Exiles 2.0.
I would like to save the version of the game we have before Sword and Sorcery becomes the official branch. I would still like to play the “Classic” version of the game we have now even if it is offline singleplayer. I’m not asking for different servers, I am just asking for an offline singleplayer for the way the game plays right now.
When I am feeling nostalgic, I would like to be able to switch between the two branches. Will that be possible?
Otherwise, I don’t think I will update the game. I will have to test if Steam lets me play singleplayer offline without updating the game. I am not so sure that it will. I feel very depressed about it.
