While playing yesterday, my brother and me, seeing that we had a lot of objects (weapons and others) we don’t use anymore, had an idea.
Don’t know if it has been submitted before but I will take the risk : Why don’t you make a system to sell things, to players or Npcs ?
To avoid useless accumulation or throwing it to the bin without benefit for the player. What do you think ? Or do you already have a solution ? I play on the ps4 (offline) version so mods are out of the question.
Or some sort of recycling system, to recuperate basic ressources from a recycled items, like when you destroy walls or others building elements.
It has been suggested before, but I still like it (selling and/or recycling)! Never hurts to suggest something that’s been suggested, helps shows Funcom that the players are interested in seeing something like it. On PC, there are several mods that do the recycling bit that work well. Hope console players will see the same someday in a official release.
Well it’s a fine line between the functionality, and taking away the feeling of uncivilized, barbarian life. Then again, we already have coinage and (a few) merchants selling things, so I guess it’s not a far reach to step this up.
I certainly like the idea of players being able to trade with each other through, setting up and stocking merchant stalls with materials that are abundant for them. Though I have a feeling it would create a whole bunch of balance issues (not to mention add even more incentive to block off resources), which might be why it’s best to keep it in modding territory.
A simple trade window between players would be great. Here’s how I imagine it would work:
- One of two players withing range of each other (say, 10 meters) would open their menu wheel and select “Initiate trade”.
- They would select from a list of players in range.
- The other player would get a dialog box asking if they wanted to accept an invitation to trade with the first player.
- When accepted they would both get a split inventory where they could see what they are offering on one side, and what the other player is offering on the other.
- They would drag and drop items to be traded in the trade window.
- Each player can click accept or cancel.
- When both players click accept, the traded items would be placed in the other player’s inventory.
Maybe that breaks the simplicity and immersion of dropping bags on the ground and hoping the other guy does the same… But I’d like to see it implemented anyway.
