Should Jhebbal Sag's Claws be redesigned?

I know there has been a lot discussion around this over the years. I have participated in a few myself. The reason I bring this up now is that they finally fixed the Werewolf boss so that he is now using his original move set and not just punching like an idiot. (as per the March 25 bugfix update)

Originally, for those that don’t know, the claws (as per the added description made it so that the player could use that same move set.

That wasn’t popular with many people for good reason. I don’t play PVP myself but there are similar posts talking about how the claws made PVP impossible against anyone who used them. I get that. I really enjoyed my time with them on Single Player. They were crazy.

Now, the claw are in a weird spot. They don’t really have any benefit. They come with a 10 minute timer, they use resources to repair and their base damage isn’t really anything exciting. They are just kind of there despite the provocative long description. Nerfed like most fun things in this game that are considered OP.

What should they do with them? I don’t see Funcom implementing a new move set just for this weapon and the basic claw move set doesn’t really do it justice since they are a common weapon now. (I believe they were unique when they initially came out) They are pretty useless which for a god tier weapon just shouldn’t be the case. For that matter, all the god tier weapons could probably use some love. Hell, the Gods themselves suck now. If they are supposed to be special, let me be special. I know that as far as Funcom is concerned, we can’t have nice things.

What are everyone’s thoughts on the matter? How should they be fixed or reimplemented? Maybe a time limited form of lycanthropy? Probably more lore friendly and could be seriously fun.

The problem on pvp was while op thralls were using them, not players. I have been one shoted from thralls of this time a couple times back then and i didn’t knew where it came from.

In my opinion these claws specifically must gain back their old animation, so i agree with your suggestion here fellow exile.

Always picked them up. Hoping for a new combo set but never saw it or could create it.

But now im interested in fighting the werewolf to atleast see what they did. But bringing back the animation should be enough. Anyway thanks in gonna check it out soon.

Oh I meant for us to attack with the animation. Sorry if I caused confusion

It is both refreshing and surprising that you would like to see the animation reinstated. Most PVP players hated them. Thanks for your opinion. Something definitely needs to be done about them.

It’s interesting how opinions on game mechanics can vary so much! While many PvP players disliked the animation, it seems like it added something valuable for you. Hopefully, the devs find a balanced solution that improves gameplay for everyone.

It is a very divisive game with Single player and Multiplayer both vying for attention. I have come to understand that dynamic in my time playing and being on the forums. Both side add to the game and I imagine achieving balance is a tight rope for the dev team to walk.

PVPers are great stress testers and SPs are want to flesh out the game and hope it keeps within the established lore and is fun to play. Sorry if my description of PVP is limited, but I don’t play that mode but I do try and appreciate what they bring to the game for everyone who plays.

Yes, it is definitely interesting and I suspect part of the reason that SP is a missing feature of Dune Awakening.
