My save was working fine this morning now it crashes when loading bar nears completion. I love the game but losing everything like this really sucks! I tried reinstall and everything already. Im wondering if playing online would prevent this in the future because the server hosts the data?
Hello. I’ve had this problem twice: once in Age of War and now in Age of Heroes. The first time I started from scratch. Now, the second time, I followed @Lucidique tip: I deleted the saved memory on my Xbox One console (about 250 MG of data). Then, I accessed the game again and, after synchronization, it accessed normally. So, it worked here in my case. I played for about 30 minutes in one of my largest bases in single player mode and the game crashed again, but I was able to access it again. I think the solution will be to eliminate some thralls, pets and reduce this Base a little (although, in terms of workbenches, it only has the essentials, since I only have one workbench of each type: an improved furnace, a blacksmith’s workbench, a carpentry workbench, furniture, molding, etc.). In fact, I don’t even have all the workbenches in this base. But, I theorize that the cause of the problem is not the workbenches. The problems started when I added some chests and then got worse when I added a safe and even worse when I added a Tavern counter. It could be a coincidence, because while I was adding these things, I was also adding thralls, so who knows.
In Age of War, I’m sure the problem was the amount of Thralls, because at the time I hadn’t used the Tavern counter. But I already had some safes and chests.
There are too many variables to test exactly what causes the problem.
However, in short, when playing in single player mode, it’s better to reduce things a lot, because the console works as a server and, apparently, it can’t handle a large number of elements.
Playing online, I don’t think you’ll have this problem. I tested it for about two months playing online mode. But, on the other hand, you’ll have to adapt to some things, like neighbors building in areas that shouldn’t have buildings. Another problem is that some areas of the game will look like urbanized cities, due to the number of bases that will be in these places. But, even then, it’s a matter of taste and you might not care about that.
Even with everything I mentioned about playing on a server, I was able to find many remote areas where I could build my bases, so I think it’s worth testing whether online play is for you or not.
