I don’t like playing on private servers or with myself on solo… how I can change server’s settings on an official server?
Thrall feeding timers is set to 7 days, 1 day more then decay timers on buildings are. I would think that is pretty darn reasonable. Myself, there are a ton of things I don’t like about official servers, which is why I don’t play on them and adjust my settings and mods accordingly.
I have some thralls which I cannot access without building stairs and trying hard to not fall, on anti climbings etc. I have tons of them like this actually… now every single 7 days I need to climb my base all over to reach them and feed them since I cannot build any pot there or anything… How does this sounds? Nightmare to me! Also I need to feed them knowing they are yet not working… darn frustrating. LOL! Every 7 days I’ll have to spend at least 2 - 3 hours (maybe even more actually) just for accessing all my thralls alone… hmmm. Not to mention how many will simply just disappear due to bugs when this patch will be on live servers. I cannot believe there will be no bugs tbh!
The pot is based on a radius that is something like, 20 foundations wide. Are you on testlive now to test? I suspect that the the pot can be placed under Thralls and have them still receive food, they don’t need to be right next to every Thrall.
In house can be but the ones on anti climbings are between house and ground. I am playing in pvp server so my base in not on the ground… I have no place to build a pot there and those are the worst to reach… there is no surface wide enough for this sadly. I feel like it will be a terror to climb those on a daily basis lol
or even a weekly…
The thrall pot can reach over 50 foundations in any direction. All feeding claims have been addressed in the latest patch. Try testing or even looking a at popular YT’s before posting about old rubbish. Funcom do listen to facts not whiners.
Im all for free ventilating , but there are lots of topics about the same issue, with the same stance.

Thru the walls and even outside of my building can be used? And if I will build them on the anticlimbings they will fill by themselves anyway? Would I need to reach to the to fill once a while?
I know but I am curious despite the avalanche of posts why they are still doing it? Most of people don’t want it… all i could say actually…
The timers are really acceptabe now, but with this addition to the game, I would love Thrall feeding, it would be a pleasure to do so, if they would go get the food themselves from the pot.
There were some words about new animations for consumables, so makes sense thralls doing the eating animation, and if when they were hungry, it would be nice seeing them making their path to the pot and returning. Problem is with those who would have to climb.

you are rubbing salt to satsify your own toxicness, it adds nothing but injecting your personal negativity

Bad ideas are like cockroaches. When they pop up, they are here to stay. You cannot completely remove them, you can only lessen their impact.
I was so against the thrall feeding and vocal about it. After seeing the changes people are showing on the test live and after hearing the interview with Joel by @firespark81 on you tube. I’m now ok with it. Special food will give buffs for those willing to farm it and thralls will eat anything “almost” that’s edible. And bait in traps will be for bonus specific targeted types of fish. All this is now just growth of the game and bug fixing.
The player base talked and they heard us as far as I can see.
I watched this interview as well, and it cleared some things up regarding the thrall system.
That comment I wrote was a week ago and Funcom seem to said there will be a separate setting for feeding the thrall and pet although I not sure it is true. Let just wait and see, hopefully.
I have a big question: i saw lots of complains that unfed thralls are disappearing after 2 h, so when this useless update will come on Live servers all players need to be online in next 2 hours after update or thralls will die? That will be fun.
Not exactly sure how the thralls from Live to Testlive build react. I know @Barnes has done some good dedicated server testing on that front though. As for Testlive servers, Your thrall has 7 days to eat after you place them in the world and their health goes down in regards to that time. Placing food in their inventories will make them consume the amount they would have needed to reset the 7 day timer. Placing food that spoils slowly in their inventory will make them last for a lot longer than 1 week.
From what Joel said on that interview recently, it sounds like that might be changed again though. They’re still tweaking numbers, after all. The goal seemed to be a fully stocked Thrall will last roughly seven days* (ie, just a wee bit more than the decay timer). That sounds about right to me - slightly longer than the decay timer, that is. I still hope they’ll push decay out to ten days or so, but that’s another topic altogether.

No, your interpretation is how Jens answered me when I questioned the test notes. He said that with the inventory full it should last 7 days. My results on Testlive can have 21 day timers (probably shorter since food can decay in their inventory), so the numbers could be changed. I really appreciate the lax timers currently though. It’s the opposite extreme to how the first testlive build went. People are really digging the current timers, so hopefully that feedback is met and we don’t have to do extensive food grinding.
