So now Thralls need regular food?

I hope it will be a server setting which can be enabled or disabled.

From my (short) test of the testlive build, thralls seem to require specific kinds of food, which may depend on the faction of the thrall. There is a little box at the bottom of the thrall inventory showing some food items, which I assume is what they want to eat. Gruel didn’t seem to work. Feels heavy to maintain (considering a stack of 50 roasted haunches for example decays in 1 day…)
Couldn’t test further because of other game-breaking bugs on testlive.

Hey friends

Takes me 30 mins minimum - and have to respec or redress for the north in that.

I have a base in every biome with some thralls.

atm they are low in health (100)at logon (after a restart) and will be killed in a purge easylillilly.

Yes, i had an Imp purge (@ south)at an official pve-c server. (no taunts or anything)
Sandstone with heavy damage(like 30 foundations), even by Imps and most thralls died.

So i travel the map via maprooms and obi’s to regen that low health (need to every day, but im tired of it)

Why this context/comment:
It will be comparable with thrall feeding routine needed when feeding is introduced imo.

Think Funcom , think!

Really? REALLY? Specific different thrall factions have specific dietary considerations? As amusing as this may seem, this is not reasonable or viable. This was supposed to be a finished product already. Now the maint required to keep my defenders is going to be left to a deadly game of trial and error?

I am not pleased.

Edit: I am understanding that there is a minimum food quality factor that is involved, and not necessarily different dietary requirements. Plain gruel doesn’t cut it, it would seem. This still seems a nightmare in my book.

I seen from a different post that it wasn’t the case when food was put in the thrall pot in testlive section.

Just a quick heads up. Right now in testlive, they die really quick if they do not have food or a food source (thrall pot) near by. My suggestion is to feed them if you are not in the area where they are placed.

So, you can’t turn it off. You have to micro manage different types of food for each faction in your base. They don’t eat gruel. This is terrible! What are they thinking? :frowning:

I have such a bad feeling about this. If they don’t at least make this a on/off server setting this might become one of their biggest mistakes yet.
Now i’m just scared how much more they will change the already ā€œfinishedā€ game for the worse, my hype for anything in the future for this game has gone out the window and now i’m just worried.

you and @carriertaiyo could always make a suggestion for what can be added or changed for the Thrall feeding system in the testlive section as I also have a topic up on suggestions to talk about new ideas as well for it.

And another question that has come to light after all this are the fishtraps.
People are saying that we will need lures in the fishtraps and they give less fish after the update.
Will they remove the oil requirement from insulated wood or did they not think about this at all?

You just grind more

Thanks  For  The  Input

If that’s true, then basically the idea is to fix the broken thrall system by breaking it even more?

If there is no server settings, then, i’ll stop using thrall for defend my home.

You know what funny that they adding this because they don’t know how to separate their code between pet and thrall.
Not sure but just a theory, maybe went they added this new content ā€œfeeding your petā€ they realize now that thrall somehow had to feed too because they using the same code which mean they had no choice but to lie and announced they had a ā€œnew featureā€ that you to feed thrall as well.

Don’t you think is strange how the pet and thrall work virtually a same? you can’t mount, you can’t have more than 1 to follow you, and they will teleport next to you if went away to far or because you climb up a mountain.

Not to mention they had to train the same way as Wheel of Pain.

If I’ve broken my thrall on the wheel of pain by sustaining him with gruel, why all of a sudden does he let himself starve to death if I dont give him a particular food? At the very least, gruel should sustain him, and he bloody better be grateful hes not sucking on rocks.

Seems that you’re totally right since I see they have no clue how to fix their own game. I didn’t saw 1 single normal fix to a really important bug since I am playing tbh! xD

This was from 7 days ago as that was before they updated the testlive build with the feedback people gave them.

I’ve seen tons of negativity towards the idea of feeding the thralls. As a matter of fact I never saw people enjoying with the idea in common. I understand that it’s a comfortable way to clear some forgotten thralls but why to be lazy instead of finding something more constructive which will be pleasant for the player base? I mean not to mention the tons of bugs this will add to the game for sure… and yeah the thralls are still not working, fountains still not filling etc etc. Why do you ignore people’s feedback but still asking for it? Nobody likes this change and yet I see that It’s still going on… Why I need to feed the tons of thralls I have some of them in really hard to reach normally places, to become as a routine? It will be like the bugs fixing team in your company… getting money but not fixing anything (feeding thralls which are ignoring you while you’re getting killed). LOL

Still here huh? To summarize, you hate Funcom, everything sucks, etc etc.

This test live update is direct evidence disputing your claim. If you don’t like that Funcom made it so that you can physically turn off Thrall feeding via server settings yourself, then there is nothing else Funcom can do to reverse your opinion.
