Some patch 2.5 complaints

Hello. Here are some issues I’ve found today after trying the new patch for the first time:

  1. The combo between light and heavy attacks for both katana and 2h axe doesn’t always work properly. Sometimes L1 goes into R2, other time L1 goes into R1. The issue could lie in the way you made light attacks “endless” instead of traditional 4-hit combo. No matter the reason, the ability to prepare a specific heavy attack with light attacks should be possible. Example - L1 L2 L3 R4

  2. There is no explainable reason why mounted sprint function has to conflict with the player’s sprint. They either need to share the same key by default, or at least not conflict with any of the abilities that can’t be performed while mounted. Horribly annoying design.

  3. Please reverse the equip/unequip function for weapons and tools. Previously the this function would put away any weapon or tool that the character is holding. Now if I hold a tool, this key for whatever reason pulls out a weapon. That’s not how it’s supposed to work.

Sounds to me that you aren’t hitting your windows correctly. ComboRules table looks fine. Most likely, you need to work on your click timing.

Thyere shouldn’t be any click timing involved. For every other weapon with 4 stage combos, you can L1, L2 and then wait a whole second before hitting R3. That is how it should be

But, there is. That’s how every single combat montage is set up (I’ve stared at combat montages more time then I care to admit). If you dont initiate an action in the specified window, you lose out on the forward progress of the combo. That’s how its always been since the combat revamp in March of 2018.

Some windows are larger then others (a full second sounds pretty long, but maybe one or two montages might have something THAT long). Maybe it’s too short for some players or they feel the window should be longer. But in terms of it being buggy? No, working fine.

In addition:

  1. Running attack of 2h hammers no longer transitions into light or heavy attack. Instead, the animation completely breaks and resets.

  2. Que large number of anything via character, like twine. Pull out a weapon - the que breaks.
    Same goes for crafting in stations. Example - que 200 insulated wood in carpenter’s bench. 5 are ready - take them out - the que stops.

  3. Something is off with the lizard-beast-thing’s armor. See the vid and watch the numbers

(2.) As for this point…

Yes, it is annoying, but you only need to change it once. I use this workaround. However, not all buttons can be customized this way.

Do you know by any chance how to rebind TAB key which works as building info / menu? When i bind something on different on TAB im loosing ability to check owner of bulding structure / status.

I was looking for that Tab function, changed a lot of things in the file but nothing worked. :dizzy_face: One of the keyboards I had had software that allowed me to change all the buttons from the keyboard side. I guess only something like this can help.

Well it may be hard coded like someone stated already but that’s great idea to use keyboard that let’s hard rebind keys, unfortunatelly it will prevent tab key use in other applications which is not solution :frowning:
