Hi, few suggestions. I just started the game yesterday.
Increase visibility of clan members name tag. Some times I cannot find them even if they are a few steps away. It’s kind of annoying.
Please mark friends on the map, and show marked locations in a game compass. Checking the map constantly is pretty tedious.
Please add ability to wield shield with small one handed pike weapons.
Balance encumberence levels, how can 100 units of stone weight less than a tiger cub?
Keep the enemy lock-on mechanic, hard to fight without it. But when locking on to enemies, the camera is angled towards the floor a bit. Reducing the view distance in front of you, and as you get closer to the enemy, it gets worse. Makes it hard to keep an eye on other enemies.
Make it so that you always face the direction of the reticule(dot) while weapon is drawn, without having to lock on to an enemy.
Gives us the ability to change the look of the character without deleting it. And change the name. At least make it an admin option.
I can’t figure out how to climb down a ledge without falling off. Is there an option to climb down? If not, add one, please.
Please, please, please make holstered weapons visible on characters. You have no idea how cheap, and lazy games look when the weapons just vanish into thin air. For the love of God, please.
Please add a pause option, even in co-op. Figure it out.
Make crafted structures, and furniture replace-able. I know you’re biggest influence is Ark, but do you have to copy the annoying aspects of those games too?
Anyway, good game. But it still needs a lot of work. Hope to see more updates, and patches real soon because with only 25 achievements, I will go through this game pretty quick.
It’s on the suggestions list, and has been more-or-less approved for eventual inclusion (the friends on map part, at least).
I wouldn’t mind that, but it’d probably make the spear too strong. Not that I have a problem per se, the shield-and-spear combination was popular through antiquity (and later) for a reason.
What is “a unit” of stone? Anyway, don’t look for realism in weight and encumberance, it’s a balance question more than a reality one.
Haven’t noticed this, but then I don’t use lock-on much. So sure, if this is a general problem.
I’d rather not have this.
Changing looks is somewhere on the “probably eventually” list. Changing names has issues, particularly in a PVP environment (steam name is not a constant either).
Agreed, this would be nice.
It’s been answered before, there’s a number of issues with just implementing that, for example the fact that you can have up to eight weapons “equipped” - are they all going to show? If not, which ones will, and what happens to the others?
It’s a server-based game. Granted, in single-player and co-op you run your own private server along with the game, so there’d be no real problem pausing the game, but you can just log off can’t you? The single-player mode functions more like an advanced training option than a viable game-mode (unfortunately).
You can already upgrade to higher tiers - what do you refer to with “replace” here?
Hey Dude, thanks for reading my post and replying with your opinion. For #9, I think the weapon that you used last could be the one showing. Say you equip your bow, then put it away, that’s the one that would show. Or they could add a “Sheath” button, like hold a button to sheath. So, the last weapon used will be the one showing.
And for #11, what I mean is… If you want to move a workbench, or chair, you can 'pick it up" and place it some where else. As opposed to destroying it.
Re: #11 picking up work benches etc instead of destroying
Funcom has replied to this often requested feature saying they will not implement it as they have found there are issues with doing that to objects with inventories that they could not resolve.
If you are playing on a pc either single player/co-op or on a private server there is a mod (Pickup+ I think it is) that will let you pick up instead of destroying workshops etc.
Hopefully by now you’ve figured out #8 (climbing down cliffs) and can climb down … though I still tend to amuse my clan mate by my fails to get the slide-hold on cliffs to start climbing down and nearly fall to my death every second attempt.
I will not yet write wishes related to game mechanics - only a few purely “cosmetic” suggestions.
I still really want to have visible weapons on my hero and NPS when they are not fighting. Two-handed hammers and spears taken out of nowhere look very ridiculous . These can be either types of weapons in sheaths, quivers suspended from behind their backs, or (only for NPCs - tralls) “calm” poses with arms in their hands.
I would like to be able to customize the appearance of your character and your tralls in the game. Especially in view of the fact that you stamped NPS 4th level on two or three templates and now many settlements look like twins villages here.
I really want to see more banners in the game. And if the banners of Khitans and Aquilons in the DLC are beautiful, and the Stygian banners can still be considered acceptable, then all the others are dirty rags, not banners .
1, yes
2, no
3, maybe
4, Yes more penalty for encumber
5, ?
7, Its on the list to do…
8, yes
9, far to many hot bars for that, have all 8 stuck on? Its alot off time and resourses to make that happen that are more needed on other stuff.
11, i dont understand.
Re: displaying weapons … Funcom has responded recently to this in detail …sorry not sure in which post it was to link it … but in short: no, Jens stated it had been discussed during early development internally and decided the coding hours/resources required to create the visual display of every weapon, sheathing and unsheathing animations and ensuring all weapons possible to be displayed would not clip into all the possible armor models would be too much…just too many hours required to make a proper job of it.
