It is funny to have someone tell that to me. But alas, it is a good opportunity to talk about my mods and why I make them the way I do.
Long time ago, one of my first mods were “No Sci Fi Map”, which removes the map. You have to walk around with an item or wall mounted maps which you need to know where you are to pin where you are. And no matter if you are admin or not, the map wont show up. Since then I have learned to walk around the Exiled Lands. Today is a “No Sci Fi UI”, which features no map, no ui, and very subtle hints on resources. You might not see you half HP if you dont pay attention, because the UI will only show noticeable signs once you are very low in HP, Stamina or high on Corruption. It also removes the shortcuts, so you have to keep in mind what you have for split second decisions. So much for “who plays on admin telling me …”.
When I had a server, several people did not played on my server after trying it, because my setting on the server was the same I had on my game. High damage to everyone. So if you or an NPC got the jump, hardly you survive. But I also install a mod that features permadeath. So if you die, you die. You have to make another character. Combat to me is more than “go fight and see what happens”. And I dont use God mod unless I am relaxing building stuff. I do play a lot and I have videos in my channel playing in several situations. Building and “playing Hyborian Sims” or exploring and fighting. Some I am showing off mods, but some I am really fighting and enjoying the game. To learn how to tweak Thralls Kill Mod, I often fight in various scenarios with different thralls, against different enemies, on top of putting the simulator to simulate hundreds of fights in accelerated version. I have really good grasp on how combat goes, both as a player, and how the AI works. Contrary to the garbage someone once said, the dodge feature is not “random”, it has a set of rules AI style that accomplish goals by choosing strategically the direction to dodge.
I have the customization mod and the camera mod because playing all that time, I am bound to not only fight and theorycraft. I build, I like to take in scenery, explore. And I like RPG, so I made a mod to add RPG elements over the ones already in game.
While I do not dig much of Siptah, I do have completed the Siptah story playing the game plain, and I also know where to find stuff on siptah, how to fight the vaults, how to deal with the storm, and so on. Even when I am playing with admin on, I barely never use any God mod, unless I am just relaxing and building.
So I do know how to use thralls for their objectives. I do know that a lot of posts talk crap about how to fight, how to build, how to “pvp”. And it would be obvious to the person making those crap statements, if they themselves played the game instead of just complaining about the design.
When you have something that does not work the way you want, and makes it hard to accomplish the task you aiming, it is obviously because you are DOING IT WRONG.
